Scotland's first triple-standard rapid charger was recently installed in Oban, and like most Transport Scotland chargers it is "free". However this is free in theory as some of them require a parking fee of a couple of pounds to access the charger.

I think the new triple charger may have topped this level though. It is yet to be confirmed, but it looks like the charger may have been installed in a part of the ferry port that you can only access with a valid ferry ticket. And the cheapest single ticket I can find is £62.

But, as the next nearest rapid charger I can find is 92 miles away in Glasgow, it may not get much use anyway.

Matt, In fairness to CMcB you could mention that they are the only ferry company (so far) to offer a discount to EVs!
I'll let you know about Oban around 20 Apr 14.
Islay, Port Ellon has a triple charger too - that is even more remote!
