Our Nissan dealer says his Leaf sales are WAY up. He attributes it to the improvements in public charging.

Outlander, Model S and the e-UP! may have contributed to the July bump.

YTD is impressive. PICG eligible sales are up 155%. 4,815 this YTD vs. 1885 last year.

With the release of the E-Golf this figure will surely rise.

All good news! Will be interesting to see what happens on the September registrations.

It turns out that the Oulander only accounted for 43% of all car eligible for the pic grants

I'm usually sceptical on "Month 1" figures as they could include registered dealer demos, but given the massive jump in the numbers relating to PHEV/REEV (comparable to BEV for first month ever) it seems some credit is indeed in order.

Perhaps I misunderstood but: Only accounted for 43% of all cars eligible for PIC grant.

That's a fantastic result for Mitsubishi. Up against big hitters like Nissan, Renault, BMW. Ok, that's essentially the first boatload that turned up and was fully committed. Proof is in the pudding but they've done well, and trickle down will keep them going. One chap in my team is ordering his this week after having seen mine.

43% is around 400 cars assuming that all dealers registered one 129 plus say 10 press cars that's still 261 cars in the first month.

It makes the S60 look catastrophically over-priced - certainly. I'm hoping to get a drive at one of the Autumn industry events.

Sorry the tone doesn't really come across will in text.
I work very close to mitsubishi HQ and the specialist vehicle unit and I've been seeing a new PHEV almost every day

So not really suprised by the figures. I think someone said on here the wait list is now around 2 months.

I'm there both days - that's one of the badgers - I'll also be at Greenfleet Arrive'n'Drive at Rockingham a couple of weeks later.

I find this really positive, I don't think it's the public charging that's making the biggest difference, I personally think it's the new wave of EVs that are drawing in a much wider audience, in addition to the charging.

I've just been away for a week and outside of Milton Keynes EVs do not seem common, but they're certainly not THAT rare any more. :D

Thanks for clarifying, chaps.

Another small milestone is also hoving into view - Plug Ins overtaking non Plug In Hybrids...

I'm sort of hopeful that hybrid sales will continue to increase, with them becoming "normal" plugin hybrids becoming "green" and full BEVs being "masochist green"

Just for a laugh I made a graph of Leaf sales in the USA, using a linear trend of the monthly sales, based on numbers from Sep-12 to Aug-14, running out to 2020. It's good, but not good enough.....

Text Line Slope Plot Parallel
