Hi all,

Looking at buying a Kangoo, had a few EVs so im familiar with how they work etc. What im interested in is if there are any visual differences so you can tell when looking at pictures of a Kangoo whether it is the newer 33kwh battery?

They seem to have come out in mid 2017 but of course you always get early registered new ones and late sold old stock so the registration date isn't a guarantee.

I've had both the 22kWh and 33kWh battery versions of the Kangoo - I believe the visual difference is the ZE badge on the doors. Obviously they are both facelift versions (post 2013).

Can you not tell by the kerb weight? Yes it depends on the wheelbase but the 33kWh is consistently heavier. What version are you looking at?

A quick google shows the kerb weights to be very similar so I wouldn't trust that:

22kWh = 1410kg
33kWh = 1426 to 1553kg

I think the body, motor, battery are all about the same weight as the 33kWh battery is more energy dense than the 22kWh because battery tech has improved since 2013.

FYI, I've only looked at the maxi as that's what I have.
