I put deposit down on 4th April and received email confirmation that day from Kia. Also have my eyes on the GT-line, possibly with four wheel drive. I’ve had a further email saying the order window opens end of April for reservation holders.
Thank you for reserving your Kia EV6
The exclusive window to place an order for your EV6 is due to open at the end of April, so in the meantime why not get to know our revolutionary new car a little more?

Good morning all.
Just had email from the dealer (06.30 this morning) inviting me to contact them. So a phone call later this morning beckons.
Will update with hopefully order details.

I looked up the temperature that wltp testing is carried out to at to see if the statement re heat pump making no difference to wltp range made any sense. Turns out wltp is carried out at 23c and 14c. Apparently these represent European average temperature, I doubt they use much heating at those temperatures so heat pump making no difference on test cycle seems reasonable.
UK winters tend to be significantly colder than 14 degrees so UK drivers may see more benefit than wltp suggests.
I'd hazard it will never pay for itself economically in terms of electricity saved, but if you live in northern Europe unless you only ever do short journeys, it could be a very nice to have.
I’m in the south of England so I think I will give the heat pump a miss.
Most of my journeys will start from home so I will be able to pre-warm the car before setting off.
If you want to see the variation in temperature across the UK then this UK climate averages website is pretty good.
Looking at the details sent through from my dealer I don’t think I will add anything to the standard GT S-line specification. It even looks like the chrome trim is blacked out but will check on phone call this Wednesday.
Apparently there will be an open day in June (hopefully with an EV6 to drive) but the dealer doesn’t expect to have demo cars full time until September.

Hi,

Thought I would sign up and join in.

I will be going to my local dealer on Wednesday and have decided that the GT-Line S is the one I want in the Matte steel grey.
Not sure about the heat pump, but as I keep saying to my other half, any options can't be added (easily) at a later date, so will probably add it on.
Does anyone know if you get the V2L adaptor and socket under the rear seats as standard?

Tim
You get V2L as standard on GT-Line but there is no mention of anything over the 4 front USB Ports and 3 x Front 12 V sockets in my list of what’s included for each trim level.
However the GT-Line S gets heated rear seats (the outer ones) so perhaps sockets get included too as they have wiring there?

Spoke with dealer today as have others.
Common theme emerging of dealers not having much more information than us. So no dealer accessory list yet, no definite service schedule or cost, no real details about the inside of the car other than look at existing Kias for things like sunroofs.
The Kia Connect is an app that will allow charging set ups at home, pre--conditioning etc, free route planner. Its free.
KiaCharge is as others have said - what is the advantage over a credit card for most new chargers?
Sat Nav will do chargers on route but not availability - use Zap-Map was the suggestion.
No finance illustrations yet as waiting for CAP Valuations - probably June.
RAC membership included.
Yes you can assume highest NCAP rating due to the fancy electronics and driving aids.
Open Day in June/July unlikely to have drivable cars. Those will be here September/October and until you have driven a test car you can cancel and get your deposit back.
I've paid a £500 deposit to the dealer and I gather Kia will refund my £100 reservation fee by end of June at the latest as its now a dealer/customer relationship. So its a AWD red GT-Line S but no heat pump. My driving is likely to be mainly from home so can pre-condition and being on south coast unlikely to be that cold for long.

Like many I have now got my £100 “I am interested” deposit to Kia returned. Timeline was £100 deposit on 3rd April, order and £500 deposit with dealer on Wed 5th May. Red, AWD GT-Line S no heat pump.

How did you manage that🤔 my dealer wanted £2k deposit 😲 needless to say he got £1k with a written "contract varience" stating that the contract can be cancelled at any time with a full refund.
The sales chap just offered it - no negotiation on my part. I did send an email confirming our verbal discussion that the £500 was fully refundable until after I had driven the demonstration EV6. He came back immediately saying absolutely so.

My dealer in Bolton said that they were currently unable to quote finance figures until nearer launch.

I have no idea why as they now know the prices 🥴
It’s because CAP (the car industry price bible I think) haven’t given estimates on residual values. My dealer said to expect those in June and once those were out he’d be able to give finance details.

From the email invitation
“As one of the first customers to order an EV6, we’d love to give you an exclusive opportunity to experience this revolutionary vehicle up close and in person, before the general public.

We are bringing an EV6 all the way from Korea to a dealership near you. This will be a great opportunity to explore its cutting-edge design, groundbreaking technology and find out more about the brand-new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).”

So it seems real cars. I’m booked on 19th July at Hendy’s in Portsmouth.

9th of July for me
And
End of August beginning of September for Northern Ireland dealers. I reckon we're the tail- end Charlie's as usual.
So looks like a three car tour to me comprising a series of one night stands. Good job Gridserve have bought out Ecotricity - they might be able to do some motorway travel between dealers 😊

This is actually really interesting information.

I tried it in reverse on their finance calculator Finance Calculator: Request a Price Quote | Kia UK I would never keep a car so this is a good hack to save money.

I did 2 quotes, one for 12000 miles and one for 6000 miles.

18000 miles at 9p cost £1620.00 BUT the difference in monthly payments means a saving of £2328.48, so a net saving of £728.48.

So I'll definitely be under quoting in future and stick to the minimum.
There may be a maximum overrun you can do on agreed mileage before extra charges are brought in. On my ipace I think it’s 5,000 miles at 8p but after that extra charges.
it’s to stop the obvious gaming of the system!

The FUD brigade are out in force. But come on guys, get the spelling correct otherwise we might suspect you’re not really genuine.
Let’s see how the viewings go.

I have three options in my mind first the EV 6 second the polestar 2 that i have road tested and the third being the Tesla Model 3 long range which i am test driving next week all in the same price bracket , i am in no rush this being my first EV. Its range and charging that concerns me and the Tesla beets everything hands down on that score
Off to see the EV6 this evening.
This will be my second EV and it’s interesting that my concerns are now more about real world charging rates than range.
I know I can happily live with a real world 220 miles plus or minus 30 depending on weather and speed. Also with an average miles per kWh of just under 3. What really sucks is 50kW charging.
Should be an interesting evening.
