I reserved a GT Line on 7th April, I would prefer the AWD. I would like to see the UK specs of each model, the prices and the options to finally decide which car I want and also how to finance it. I am eagerly awaiting a call from the dealer to invite me in the discuss things. Will they have a car on show and allow test drives?
I hope it does not go like the Kona where they stopped taking orders for 12 months! But hopefully I am near the front of the queue!

Looks like ordering and spec is open in France. Quite please with what is included in the GT-line spec.
I do wonder what is in the advanced driving systems pack.
Any idea how to get translate to work on that page?

I have just had a call from my dealer SG Petch at Sunderland. I am going to visit them next week. Too much on this week.
I asked about a heat pump £900! So I shall not be having that! I did reserve a GT Line, but now I see the spec of the GT Line S I see there are a number of things that are only available on the S. Dealer says he has the full spec (apart from weight! Perhaps it weighs 2.75 tonne!) so we can discuss what I want on the car.
Regards the Heat pump, my current car is a MINI Countryman PHEV, one of the options it came with was Heated screen, normally very useful in the winter. However completely unnecessary on a car where you can pre heat before your journey! I also will not be covering excessive miles so don’t need to scavenge the heat to save the battery range.

I spoke with my dealer SG Petch, Sunderland, on Monday. I was advised they are to have a car for inspection in August, but it will not be available for test drives. I was also told if I order before 17 May, I should get the car in October. I asked when they were likely to get a demonstrator, around Christmas was the answer.
It seems dealers have different dates on when they will get their hands on a car in their showroom
So it is unlikely I will get a drive in an EV6 before I take delivery of mine!

A bit more info about the car
Just thinking about my delivery date of October. Does anyone have any idea when RHD production is to start?
another point, how long does it take for a car to get from the Korean factory gate to a dealer in NE England? I’m guessing around 4 weeks.

Anyone on here got a build date for their car?
In the past when I have placed an order for a car, I have been given a build date, this helped to understand where you were with the delivery of the car.
I have very little in documentation from the dealer and nothing to indicate a build or delivery date.
I know it is scheduled for an October delivery, but for the car to be transported from Seoul to the UK, the car will have to be built before the end of September which is just 2 months away.
I am nervous and not sure the proposed delivery date is achievabl.

During the EV6 presentation at Kia GWR I asked about the October delivery and one of the Kia reps told me that they had already started shipping the EV6 to the UK in order to meet the October delivery schedule. The GWR Sales rep did not know anything about this, but seemed confident about October delivery for those who ordered first.

They also explained exactly what J2T2 said, that by offering different specs with limited extras they were able to batch produce to meet the projected demand for each variant. Whilst I would have personally preferred some more customisation options such as interior trim colours, I do understand why Kia are doing it this way.

Fingers crossed that they are correct.
I cannot see that production has started and UK cars are in transit.
If production had started, I’m sure one of the Korean pundits Would have driven a car by now.

I did a little research on shipping times from Seoul to the UK. Four weeks is what was quoted, but I’m not sure if there is still a delay at the Suez Canal. If they go via the Cape then the journey is considerably longer and more costly.
One thing that is unknown, is the time from the factory to the ship, also the time from the UK dock to the dealer. I would guess a week at each end which will mean approx 6 weeks from factory to dealership.
Has anyone that production has started? I would presume the Korean market will be the first to get the car, so would guess that Asian Petrol Head or one of the many Korean You Tubers will post a video of a drive in the car as soon as they get a chance.

From memory it was 5 - 6 weeks from ulsan to dealership a couple of years ago when my Kona was shipped.
Soon you can all look forward to watching the position update on marinetraffic.com
It is strangely addictive watching the progress.
A couple of Questions,
Is Ulsan the departure port? It is along way from the factory. I thought it would be Pyeongtaek?
How do you identify which ship “your” car is on so you can track it?

I have been doing a bit of research. Kia use Pyeongtaek as their departure port in Korea and land the cars at Immingham before they go to the Kia facility at Stallingborough.
The shipping Company they use is Eukor.
Morning Post departed Korea on 18 June and is due in UK on 29 July, some 6 weeks
Morning Lynn departed Korea on 9 July and is scheduled to arrive on 26 August, 7 weeks later.
So for a car to at the dealers by the end of October, it needs to be on the ship early in September. If it is not en route in September it would appear the car will not be at the dealers until end of November!
Whilst not wanting to be a pessimist, I now believe an October delivery date is looking doubtful, I hope I am wrong!

Morning Lily is due to dock on 20th Sept. so this is likely to be the earliest date for an EV6s wheel to touch UK soil.
Morning Lynn is due to dock on 29th August, but as this left Korea on 9th July, it will not have any EV6s as production had not started until well after that ship sailed.
If what has been said on earlier posts, my White GT Line S AWD, will not be on M Lynn, hopefully it will be on the next ship which will dock sometime late October. I shall keep watching the Eukor website.

Just checked the Eukor website, it is now showing 24th. So it looks like the date is moving about a bit. So as you say Test Drives will be delayed.
I will keep checking the website to see when the next ship is listed, hopefully my car will be on that ship
