I speculate that at the next stage of the process, placing an order will require a more significant deposit (say £1000), will require you to select a detailed specification and will also allow for a "no quibble" cancellation (i.e. no need to give a reason). This was the case for Kia e-Niro orders. If you did not want to go ahead by the time your car was ready, you could cancel and get a full deposit refund (in this case it was £1000). Not something I'm planning to do, but if there are no test drive models ahead of the order timeframe this gives flexibility and re-assurance so if you find the car is really not for you post test drive you can cancel the order.
Thanks, that is very useful info. EV6 is in my top 3 at the moment so might be willing to put down a deposit if fully refundable. Main worry is that deliveries will slip into next year for AWD models.

Looks like ordering and spec is open in France. Quite please with what is included in the GT-line spec.
I do wonder what is in the advanced driving systems pack.
From Kia press website:
  • Advanced Driver Assistance System includes Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Smart Parking Assist

Reserved mine on 30th March so hopefully fairly near the front of the queue. I really hope there will be some decent choices of trims and drive trains on launch. Need to have my car by Dec/Jan so don't have time to wait around for more choice, but will be very disappointed if I can't at least get a version with a premium stereo. If I can choose AWD and a sunroof even better.
If it goes the same way as most of the other manufacturers we will get a choice of RWD and two battery sizes. AWD to come next year.
