Hi guys,

Thank you for the moderators/site owners for setting up a thread for this EV now it can be ordered or more accurately an online reservation to make an order.
The Kia EV6 Electric Car | Kia Motors UK

Suggest we use the thread to
  • Notify each other for key events such as prices and specifications being fully confirmed
  • Discuss actual ordering process starting
  • Discuss first edition specifications and options (if any are available)

Questions we might discuss
  • How many orders will be allocated to our country
  • Will there be long waiting lists as there were for the Kia e-Niro at launch

I made my reservation on 11th April 2021. Not sure how early/late in the process that was, but already excited by the reviews and emerging information about the Kia EV6.

Many thanks,

WarwickBoy

I really would like to see the UK spec and prices. I have a reservation for a GT Line, but I fancy a dual motor.
it is looking like the Ioniq 5 45 edition is going to be around £45k
Will be nice to have a full price list but i am gessing the GT-Line dual motor is going to be around £51,000 and the S line £54,000 hope i am wrong
The press release states:
"The UK pre-reservation window for the all-new Kia EV6 will close after 22:59 British Summer Time on 30 April. To-date, around 1,250 UK customers have pre-reserved their EV6."
- Interesting - I wonder whether they will be able to service all those orders (assuming a reasonable percentage will go ahead, and some will not proceed)?

"Customers can visit the Kia UK website to configure and pre-reserve their EV6: www.kia.com/uk/new-cars/ev6/. The pre-reservation process enables customers to secure an early ordering slot for the new battery electric vehicle (BEV) via the Kia UK website, with a fully refundable £100 charge."

Pre-reservation customers will be invited to place their order during an exclusive ordering period from 4 to 17 May 2021, ahead of general orders commencing from 18 May."

  • I assume that configuration starts on 4th May as I can't see a way to do it on the site just now.
  • I wonder whether PCP prices/APR% will be known as part of the ordering process and what the APR% rates will be.

GT-Line S it is then. Hope my budget will stretch to AWD but will certainly be happy with RWD in that spec if not.
Wonder how much extra they will charge for the heat pump (only standard in the GT)? Will there be a 'standard' paint colour and what is the likely supplement for premium finishes.
Speaking to a KIa dealer today he said it will be 12 months before they get delivered and it is likely that there will be a 12 month lead in time for anyone ordering, so anybody contemplating getting an EV6 needs to plan ahead!

... This website suggests that pacific blue as the standard colour for europe, listing metallic at €650, pearlescent paint €750, matt paint €826.

Perhaps likely for UK cars also?

There's no mention of a heat pump option. I don't think the heat pump is of much significance to UK market?

Not seen individual prices for paint (UK) I am going for the metallic red , Tesla charge £2000 for red so if its 750 extra that's cheap but I am going for the GT-Line S so think that's all in the price quoted for the S but that's UK pricing.
Regards the heat pump I consider it a must it was a big game changer for the Tesla model 3 and I would not buy an EV without one where ever you are in the world.
All wheel drive GT-Line S just shy of £52,000 same price as a model 3 long range in red and white upholstery
I am going for the metallic red
yes, thats my preference too

I think £700 is around the normal ballpark for pearlescent paint, Tesla are just taking the p1$$.... because they can!

My e-Niro has a heat pump, it doesn't appear to have any benefit in terms of battery 'range' (as far as WLTP figures suggest), maybe it does add a couple of miles in the real world but hardly significant enough to justify purchasing as a costly 'option' I would have thought.

I would be interested to learn exactly what the tangible benefits of a heat pump are, other than to heat the cabin quicker in the winter, so I can determine whether the benefits make any additional financial cost worthwhile, if indeed it does transpire as being an option.
You’ll both be glad to know Red is the no cost colour option.

Heat pump option available @ £900
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and just joined after reserving an EV6 here in Iceland. I reserved an AWD GT-Line in runway red. I personally find the steel grey most interesting but it's only available as a matte color for the GT-Line here in Iceland. Does anybody here know or have experience in cleaning and keeping a matte colored car clean? I'm really worried that if I change over to the Steel grey matte it will be a pain in the ass to keep clean.

I've also seen a Youtube review that mentioned that the trunk would be a bit smaller with an optional audio system. Does anybody here know if that's the 14 speaker Meridian system that's included in the GT-Line? And then by how much smaller?

As per my previous query..... exactly what tangible benefit is there for £900? 🤔

Can I ask where you gleaned this information from?
👍😁

Heat pumps in the winter take heat from the outside air even when its below freezing and puts it in the car, its a bit like your fridge it gets hot at the back from taking the heat from inside keeping your food cold, if you dont have a heat pump you have to have a resistive heater to keep the car warm this uses twice the amount of power to do the same as the heat pump can do and remember you cant get it fitted if you change your mind and to be honest there is not many EVs of this class that has not got one as standard.

Hi all cars are a pain to keep clean the dirt sticks to them regardles of colour or finish buy the colour you like the most. by the way i think your find you only get the 14 speaker system only if you go for the S model

Yes, I am familiar with the operation of heat pumps I have them in a property in spain.

My understanding in relation to EV's is that the heat pumps are not air source but absorb heat from the coolant that is used for the motors and batteries then utilising this residual heat to heat-up the cabin.

This was my previous query, I am not aware of any other tangible benefit that justifies the additional cost (in this case £900).

My heat pump, according to wltp figures, offers no benefit in terms of additional range afaik.

Imo, if having the cabin heated a couple of minutes sooner in winter is the only benefit, then I don't consider a £900 premium to be financially justifiable.

I would be interested to learn from anyone of any other documented tangible benefits that a heat pump provides.

It certainly seems to "scoop up" the waste heat from the battery, motor and so on - my winter range drops by about 10-15% maybe 20% at most, whereas cars without heat pumps seem to drop 20% - 30% as a rule. I think they are more relevant in really cold countries, however there is still a benefit on very long runs or very low temps
Good morning all.
Just had email from the dealer (06.30 this morning) inviting me to contact them. So a phone call later this morning beckons.
Will update with hopefully order details.

Where are the list of UK options and the associated prices for the Kia EV6?

I'm a pre-registration customer, and can't see anything in the pre-registration portal, and the only official UK pricing I have seen is for the models (no options) on the press release.
Enter - Kia NEWSROOM. Please can someone post a link to the full option list?

I'm interesting in the pricing for
  • Tow Bar - not for towing but a Thule bike rack
  • 14-speaker Meridian audio system - whether you can option this on lesser cars that the EV6 GT-Line S
Automotive parking light Car Automotive tail & brake light Tire Wheel

Is this any use to you? Can’t recall where I saw it now, as I’m looking at some many places for info. Facebook Kia EV6 page, SpeakEV forum, etc etc.
