Hi guys,

Thank you for the moderators/site owners for setting up a thread for this EV now it can be ordered or more accurately an online reservation to make an order.
The Kia EV6 Electric Car | Kia Motors UK

Suggest we use the thread to

Notify each other for key events such as prices and specifications being fully confirmed
Discuss actual ordering process starting
Discuss first edition specifications and options (if any are available)

Questions we might discuss

How many orders will be allocated to our country
Will there be long waiting lists as there were for the Kia e-Niro at launch

I made my reservation on 11th April 2021. Not sure how early/late in the process that was, but already excited by the reviews and emerging information about the Kia EV6.

Starting to feel a bit like an outcast now.

AWD, Grey car with heat pump

Her who must be obeyed, went through the colours like this - Don't want a red car, already got a blue car, white and silver cars aren't painted, "not black", so grey was the only option.

Not that i'm complaining as I like the idea of it being different, although I here that matte paint must not get wax on it as it destroys the finish. Going to look into getting it ceramic coated so it gets extra protection.

I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered the red was the default colour 😁 Quids-in

I have orderd a Red GT S AWD also but i seem to be the exception s i have orded a heat pump like you say if you buy a Tesla (witch i nearly did) they want £2100 for red and poor pannel gaps and grit in the top coat are free of charge so for me happy to spend the £900 odd on a heat pump if its not fitted you cant make use of it and also will add to the resale value

When you lead the pack its a lonly place, yes i have orderd a heat pump to better with than without, not sure on the matte finish i like a car to shine matte always reminds me of the Ford cars that the clear coat that had come off.

Well we will see who gets to say "I told you so" when we get our cars, to see if the heat pumps are worth it.

I think the matte is more like a satin (like the GT in the launch video) so it won't be like an old Ford. Only problem is that it needs a lot more care than "Normal" boring paint 😜

Yeah can't wait till October. Hopefully my dealer will have a demo car June/July although that is probably wishful thinking.

I nearly went for a Model 3 long range red with white seats but never pushed the button realy wanted a hatch back not a fan of the style and as for the dash board it looked like a kitchen worktop the had a tablet left on it, so for less money the EV6 came along and it was a no brainer Pluss i can take it for service where ever i like

The sales chap just offered it - no negotiation on my part. I did send an email confirming our verbal discussion that the £500 was fully refundable until after I had driven the demonstration EV6. He came back immediately saying absolutely so.

Ive yet to talk to my dealer, but to those that have, has the dealer asked about how the car will be paid for? Any details of finance being offered? Im undecided whether to purchase outright or choose a finance package.

My dealer in Bolton said that they were currently unable to quote finance figures until nearer launch.

I have no idea why as they now know the prices 🥴

It’s because CAP (the car industry price bible I think) haven’t given estimates on residual values. My dealer said to expect those in June and once those were out he’d be able to give finance details.

10 yr, unlimited mile warranty
Pre-orders open June 3rd for 1500 First edition models.
Available 1st qtr 2022

I paid £500 refundable too for a gt-line s with heatpump, not sure what your dealer is playing at
