Hi All,

As you are no doubt aware, Nissan have launched a new deal which allows people to part-exchange certain cars*, and get an extra £1000 (£2000 total) deposit contribution on USED LEAF.

We've got the following cars coming into stock soon, which I am advertising here to give the SpeakEV members first dibs.

THESE ARE ALL BATTERY BOUGHT, WITH NO RENTAL TO PAY ON TOP. Some of them used to be Flex cars, but we have bought out the battery, so the customer has nothing to worry about. (y)

The monthly payments I've illustrated below are based on 6k miles per annum, on a 3 year PCP with a £500 customer deposit.

If you're NOT part-exchanging a qualifying car, then the Non-Switch price applies (£1000 deposit contribution).

If you ARE part-exchanging a qualifying car, then there is a minimum £2000 deposit contribution (depending on the value of your exchanged vehicle).

Now arranged according to the relevant branch, so you can contact them directly to enquire:

Is it truly a scrappage scheme? Reason I ask is that we scrapped my wife's 2004 streetka a couple of weeks ago, and we were hoping that a certificate of destruction might be acceptable, although of course we wouldn't expect a value for the car!

It's a swappage scheme, so we don't necessarily scrap the vehicles. The terms and conditions can be found here: https://www.nissan.co.uk/content/dam/Nissan/gb/vehicles/Offers/The Switch Scheme/Nissan Switch Terms and Conditions.pdf

Had high hopes when saw that Nissan were offering a scrappage scheme the day after I read that VW were offering their really good value one. Gutted when I read that it doesn't include new leaf's though. They'd sell really well too if they did I think :(

genuine question.....cos I'm stupid....but why are some concerned to make sure that the cars are indeed scrapped, and not resold on?

Bit gutted about the minimum 90 day ownership period required to qualify for the scheme. Last month I bought a stop gap runabout after my Rover 75 expired after seven years ownership which I guess would have qualified for the trade in scheme . My question is why 90 days-this deal only came out last week and in fact my local Nissan dealer also only knew about it when I did ( I could understand it applying from the date of the announcement but three months)? Its a shame because it puts a lot of the above cars I would be interested in beyond my budget :( .

Really sorry to anyone who has been emailing me over the past 24 hours. I honestly haven't slept (couldn't fall asleep last night, so stayed up for the LEAF unveil, and then got dressed and drove to London for a meeting at Maple Cross), and have only got onto my laptop now to look at quotes for people.

I'm working through them as quick as I can.

In the meantime, a couple of cars have been sold by my colleagues today, so I've removed them off the list.

Hi Miles,
Appreciate your keeping us informed as always. Do you have any idea when UK pricing on the new Leaf will be made public?

Pricing is expected to be in line with current RRP for existing LEAF, as per other territories. However, the cost on PCP is something which we are unlikely to know until next quarter (October at soonest).

Miles, can I just check.
When you quote purchase or PCP/lease figures, do I have to add battery rental on top?
All of these cars are battery included. We have bought out the battery on any that were Flex cars to convert them to batteries included. There will be no battery rental to pay on top. (y)

Miles is it possible to get a 30kw Tekna used for less than £200? 8k miles per year £509 deposit?
Short answer... No. First off, they are like rocking horse poo, second, they will be newer (and hence more expensive) than the cars we've got listed above.
