I have just been called by my local Nissan garage to book my 1 year old leaf in for a recall. They were vague about what was required “a component needs replacing in the driver box“?

They have just found out about it and the work will take all day.

Has anyone else had this recall yet?

I took my Leaf (Dec 19 reg, e+) in for something else on Friday and they told me a small recall job needed doing but they couldn't elaborate. Then they said they wouldn't have the part in on Friday so could they keep it til Monday. Called yesterday for update and part hadn't arrived. Still couldn't elaborate beyond "something to do with the engine cover" [sic]. Still not heard anything today.

Are Nissan dealers universally crap at communicating?

Finally got my Leaf back today. Original problem still not fixed, might get around to moaning about that in here later.
Dealer was unable to tell me much about the recall job except that it was to replace a cog in the gearbox. I asked for a copy of a Tech Note (or whatever they call it - that's what we called them in Telecoms) but they denied any such thing exists.
Anyway the receipt says "WAR Carried out PG0C9 REDUCER recall To gearbox", so none the wiser.

Just checked on the .GOV website and sure enough my MY20Leaf 40 is subject to a recall, not heard from dealer yet so i will call them on Monday. Why the hell are they so secretive about these things.
Looks like all leafs are affected but will be called in when parts are available, that's why the dealers don't contact till they have parts available. Not sure what the recall is for though.

... or you could just put the info in post #9 into Google and find it's Leaf/ENV200 production in the Summer of 2019 only...

Pardon? I’ve admitted before that I’m the least technical person here, but surely there is no gearbox for there to be a cog in...?
The motor still goes through a final drive (gear reduction) and differential to change the drive direction,
It looks like a small gearbox but without all of the gear cogs, only the final drive cog and park brake lock.

had my 69 plate first service last week, they also did a recall - Park Lock Actuator Plate replaced...that was the only recall they had on the system, seems like they all do their own thing!! LOL
I had it done on Wednesday, changed “something” in the gearbox. The reason they wanted it for eight hours was that mine was their first one and they wanted extra time “just in case”!

I am having an interesting issue since my recall.

When I put the Leaf on a fast charge (not timed) then it only charges to 78 to 83% before stopping. Then if I log on to the app and request that the charge is started again it does start but it says that the battery is fully charged and the symbol at the top left is coloured in, it does carry on charging though. I’ll take some screenshots next time I charge.

Also all my settings were set back to “factory” which meant going through the menus and changing the settings back, cannot get the trip computer data back though.

What does the dealer have to say about it?
