'Most dealers will scan the batteries and show the results if you ask" says a website.

Have members of the forum tried this when buying a second hand Leaf?

There is a SOH gauge on the Leaf 2. I think it has 12 horizontal bands and is viewable on one of the EV screens.
Yes, but it’s a bit tricky to find compared to the Leaf 1 where (AIUI) it’s on the primary display. It’s probably unlikely, but I just wondered whether someone had confused the screen roundels with the battery bars. Though since the dealer doesn’t know the difference between a 24th and a 40…
It's much easier to buy a OBD-II to Bluetooth dongle and use the free version of LeafSpy to do it yourself. Leafspy gives you much more information than the dealer will. Most don't seem to mind the car being checked.
Just thinking about getting Leafspy and the OBD-ll dongle, just a question or two, do you keep the dongle attached all the time (obviously if going to garage remove it before hand) and does Leafspy pro give full instructions on use and how to interpret the results?

Personally No, but some people do. If you do ensure that you get an OBD dongle that turns off automatically otherwise you'll flatten the 12v and not be able to "start".

They are reasonable but incomplete. For example it doesn't say what "good looks like".
