From what I understand the lifetime warranty is sent to owners after a period of time. You need this to renew it every year in order to keep it alive.

Has anyone received their documentation yet?

If you register here: https://www.vauxhalldriverscentre.co.uk/home and enter your car registration you will see the lifetime warranty bit under your registered car.

For later when you register it seems you will also get some discount down the line on various items depending on the cars age. See here: http://www.vauxhalldriverscentre.co.uk/serviceclub/info and for joining info.

I also advise reading the FAQ http://www.vauxhalldriverscentre.co.uk/faq on the lifetime warranty, it WILL focus your attention on what you need to do.

Mine says it requires reactivation... does that mean I have to do something to activate it then?

I have not received anything in the post about the warranty and neither did my salesman say I would. In fact, he didn't mention it at all when we collected the car.

I am a little confused.

Hi Paul,

It will take Vauxhall some time to issue the warranty info from what I understand but it is something we should keep in the back of our minds as not having it and not keeping up the re-activation each year will mean the warranty becomes invalid.

One of the other reasons for taking the leap into an electric car was the lifetime warranty as I see this as protecting the end user from early life failures of what is fairly new and relatively untried technology. As we have seen already there are some people who's cars have issues. I hope that these are the exception rather than the rule. Only time will tell.

Called Vauxhall today to enquire about the Lifetime Warranty as I had not received anything from them to confirm it was active.
It transpired that when the dealer registered the car they mistyped the VIN, hence Vauxhall could not confirm the vehicle and did not activate the Warranty.
Vauxhall suggested I call the dealer to sort with the correct details which I have now done and am waiting for confirmation that everything is sorted.

Just received my Lifetime Warranty documentation so they should all be dropping on doormats for those who I suspect took delivery on or before 15/5/12 (Which is when I took delivery) - so keep an eye out for that letter and keep the3 contents somewhere safe.
