At FCL, there was a company with kerbstone-type chargers, should be fairly easy to mount under plantings alongside your drive (assuming you have one?).
That triggered a memory of a guy who basically ran an extension cable from the house to his boundary hedge - then ducted the cable under the pavement to a waterproof box under a pavement slab where he cold plug the granny cable in by the car with no trip hazards involved.

It caused me to think that something similar could be done even in strict control areas. A charge unit could be in the house with the cable going through a wall below outside ground level to a box with its lid at ground level just by the wall outside. The unit to have its socket on the end of that cable, inside the box, and to charge the car you just lift that lid and plug in. Just more food for thought really. It would be visually unobtrusive to even the most rabid enforcer.

Had a look at those, thanks. What I'd really like, in a perfect world (lol), is for a specialist to visit my property, advise on kit, recommend a few alternative options with an analysis of pros and cons, then negotiate with listed planning consent officer and install. The wrap around service industries seem to have a way yet to go.
I did exactly that, picked a few options I was happy with (functionally and aesthetically) then opened a dialogue with the planning officer. They came back with preference and we negotiated colour and that was that. In my case I knew that cables couldn’t be visible and setting was important so I headed all those problems off in advance by doing my research in advance so my proposal gave few grounds for objection.
