Hi all.
I’m considering selling my Zoe and wondered if there are complications due to it having a battery lease?
Also, best places to sell if you have any advice.
Full history, serviced last week. New tyres going on tomorrow. 38k miles.
Thanks all.

Not really, especially as buyers now have the option to buy out the lease.

You can advertise on here on contact some of the specialist EV motor sales companies who advertise on here, who should give you a good price.

The last few Zoes advertised on here sold fairly quickly.

The complication is you have to make sure the new owner takes on the battery lease. There's a transfer form you both fill in and sign to send off to RCI, but it doesn't actually transfer until the new owner gets the docs in the post, signs those and sends back to RCI. There's a risk (but a small one) that they don't bother, or it gets lost in the post, and you go on paying the lease in the meantime.

The times I've sold cars privately in the past I print off a little sale contract (like this), for a Zoe I'd add some words about understanding that the battery is leased and agreeing to do those steps to transfer it ASAP.

This is why much of the motor trade (EV specialists aside) don't like leased battery Zoes. Renault dealers can pause the lease but others can't, the seller doesn't want to go on paying for a car they don't have, and the trader doesn't want to pay £50+ a month for a car sitting on their forecourt.

I'd get a battery buy-out price from RCI too, if the buyer prefers you can just pay that off and make the lease issue disappear.

I'd be interested depending on location, price and of course colour :)

Get the new owner to complete and sign the form agreeing to take over battery lease, dont post the filled in form, scan and email it to this address "Electric Vehicles" <[email protected]> I had no problems when I used that method.

In my opinion not a bad time to sell. The 3 year warranty ( iirc, earlier cars were 4 years and later 5 years ) still has some time to go and the market seems quite buoyant, electric cars are much more in demand now than when you bought your car. If selling privately I’d definitely highlight the manufacturers warranty.

I sold my ZE40 to Drive Green who collected on low loader, paid on collection after checking condition and no hassle transferring lease. They aren't always buying, but a call will give you a price if they are. I got a fair deal and less hassle than private sale.
IMO selling older Zoe privately is easy, but with newer ones at higher prices it gets harder as people like buying from a dealer, need finance, etc. Some buyers think private sales should be dirt cheap too, with offers little more than you would get from DG.

Happy to discuss a sale. Colour is the dark grey..... car was serviced last week and 2 new tyres today. I’m not sure on price so I’ll take a look unless you have an idea of what you want to pay. Thank you.

That’s what I did - then you get a receipt confirmation from RCI so you know they’ve got it.

The only thing the OP should be aware of is RCI will continue to take the monthly fee through DD unless you cancel it.

Hi. I’ve taken a look at it looks that the going rate is starting at about £11,500. If you are thinking of somewhere near to that I’d be happy to discuss. Let me know if you want further details. Please let me know. Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply, what year is it?

£11,500 seems expensive to me but maybe I'm missing something?

Here's a list of similar cars under £10,000

Hi. No probs on the delay.... Mine is a 2019 model registered 31/07/19. Most of those listed are a couple of years older than mine but happy to discuss a price if you wanted to. It would need to be closer to £11k than £10k though. Let me know. Thanks again.

The clue would have been in the title of your post! 😅
