I've dug a little deeper and found the EV only registrations information;

March Registrations obviously skewed by the new 14 plate.

A 200% change in Pure Electric over 2013 is huge!!

I would like to understand what qualifies as Plug-in Other Electric. Presumably the i3 Rex and the Ampera, but does that include the Plug in Prius? Do PHEV's come under that category?

Good stuff Derek.

I'm not sure if I've remembered correctly but I think in that radio 4 program the other day they said that in the first quarter of 2014 there had been 4 times as many £5k government grants applied for than in the same period last year.

I think the clue is in "PHEV"! If the "P" stands for "Plug-In" then I reckon that means they are included :) So, yes (IMO), i3 REx, Ampera, Plug-In Prius, Outlander etc.

SMMT have released figures for May 14 in the UK today:

Not nearly as positive in May as either March or April, particularly for BEV's.
