Hi
Im a bit confused about MG PCP every where on their websites says 0% APR even got quote with 6k deposit 10k miles per year i got £255.57 per month for MG5 exclusive which im very happy with, spoke to dealer he said 5% APR ? On Sunday im going to see the car they got one and he told me the waiting time is 2-3 weeks 🤔.
Anyone else have similar quotes lead time ?

Thanks

There are several deals at the moment:

0% PCP with whatever deposit you like

If you have a car to part ex then you can get your cars value in part ex plus another 4k off as a deposit and then 5.9% (or at least thats what my dealer had % wise) APR PCP works out slightly better than the 0%

Or if you work for the NHS/Fire/Police/School (and maybe some other public service) you can get the affinity discount which is £4,213.66 off the Exclusive and £3,632.47 off the Excite but those figures are taken off the car before VAT is charged so are actually more like £5,000 and £4,300, again 5.9% APR on PCP. If you can get this or anyone in your immediate family (Spouse or children I think) qualifies this is the best one to go for. You also can get any colour FOC on this deal!

The £22,995 @ 4.9% should work out cheaper than the 0% be sure the deposit and final payment are the same to compare like for like.

Timescale wise I was told maybe November, a boat docks around then with the first few hundred 5's on it in November but my dealer wasn't 100% certain that they would get the cars they'd ordered from this first batch as they said they wouldn't be allocated to dealers until after the boat docks.

Yeah, this is how it's done. You virtually end up the same no matter what deal you take. I suppose it's a form of mind control. One person will find one deal attractive and someone else will find the other attractive. Either way you've got both people to buy the car for the same amount. Simples.

My mum was a big believer in 'there's no such thing as a free lunch'.

Unless you pay off the 4.9% PCP in a lump sump from a cheaper loan.
Yep, that's the plan going forward. Some time next year I'll bin the PCP and have a proper loan.

I've just got a DIP to extend the mortgage (at 1.8%) to buy for a cash price of £23,270 including paint, with the £4k trade up allowance. Those finance figures look about right.

There is if you're really a cash buyer and willing to play them. You take out the £22995 deal, then settle it with the finance company a week later. ;)

Is there anywhere with more details on the affinity scheme?

I have been sitting on the fence on getting an MG5, but I'm a teacher, and if eligible, this could just about sway it.

MG Affinity Scheme in Essex | Toomey Motor Group

Affinity Programme, Seaford, East Sussex | Jermyn and Sons

New & Used MG Car Specialists - Hendy MG

Take your pick available at all good MG dealers so I hear ;)

I thought the 0% deal made the 5 a pretty good deal, the £4k off made it even better but this just makes it a no brainer! Don't even need man maths!!

Hi Guys,

I have seen the MG5 in flesh this weekend, was excite but still can see the size of it and very pleased . Could not drive it wasn’t registered yet but sat in the car had little play.
Have few quotes from dealers, all around me got different price of the car which was a bit confusing but they got the same numbers monthly around £270 per month, 4 years , 10k per year PCP, part ex my own car (given between 5-5.7k ). The best offer got from dealer in Scotland £231 per month. The difference will be 1800 for 4 years which is fair amount of money.
Just wondering once i buy the car from this dealer do i need to go back again there or can service it local MG can’t see what would be the problem?
Your thoughts about it ?

IIRC, MG trained their mechanics at all branches to service EVs when the ZS EV launched.

Bought mine in Telford, have it serviced/repaired (one warranty so far) in Newcastle under Lyme.

I'll be very interested in reading any feedback from MG 5 owners once they've had theirs for a few weeks.

Had my Leaf 30 for approaching four years now and it's been a great car, so cheap to run and still with 98 per cent of the original battery capacity. But I would like something with a longer range, as we go to Edinburgh two or three times a year normally and down to the south coast a couple of times, both 400 mile round trips.

The cavalry of state pension is only a few months away, so there will be more money available. The 5 is certainly something I'm considering, so any owner impressions will be helpful. I'm attracted by all that space, should easily take a bike or two.

But..... should I wait s bit longer for the refresh? Or will that have a higher price? Hmm, so many things to chew over!
