Microphone - Leaf newbie question

8429 Views 12 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  steven_739
I don't seem to be able to make the microphone work for either voice recognition or bluetooth phone calls. The person on the other end of the call cannot hear me on both incoming and outgoing calls. And voice recognition does not seem to hear me at all, with no background noise either.
Suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks

Check the volume settings for the speaker and microphone:

Sounds like an issue with the car. Unfortunately requiring a visit back to your dealer.

Perhaps put a call into Nissan customer services first - you've a 1% chance of getting through to someone competent who could advise.
Yes, but I would suggest first of all un-pairing it and repairing it if you haven't already.

What phone do you have?

All other functions on both iPhone 5Ss work fine, make calls, receive calls hear the caller. But they can't hear us at all.
But its an issue with Voice Recognition for the car system itself, i.e. not just the phones on bluetooth.
Obvious question: did you press the 'voice' button on the lower left of the steering wheel?
Yep. Singly and multiple times to no avail.
If you press and hold the home button on the 5S, does it activate Siri, and does the car 'hear' you? (Car has to be switched on of course :ROFLMAO:
Doesn't the head unit have a microphone test in the secret menu?
Doesn't the head unit have a microphone test in the secret menu?
Ah that sounds promising. How do I access that?
Thanks for advice so far. I found the microphone test, clicked 'on' then nothing happened apart from it showing 'on'. Any move away from that screen turns it off. Now what? Anyone know the answer?
Thanks in anticipation...
