I have noticed that the Long Term data in We Connect has reset itself. Last week, the total miles shown has started again and is now set at 161. It was 2536. It seems to me that this has been caused by the field holding the driving time data is now full, at 99 hours and 59 minutes' total driving. Since that has started again at 0.00, presumably the miles covered has done as well.

I assume that there's nothing I can do about this silliness and just have to put up with it. Or is there something that can be done to ensure that the total miles my car has done is the genuine full amount?

Hi, did you ever get this resolved? I noticed that nearly 2 years of data suddenly disappeared prior to 22nd March. I contacted We Connect support about it and they said "We are glad to inform you that your issue with lost Driving Data is resolved." and supplied some data in the form of a .csv file. They have not restored the data on the We Connect Portal and I suggest the .csv file is pretty useless, as all data is combined together in 84 rows. It would have been more helpful if they had produced the data in a normal spreadsheet with each category in a separate column. However, they should have restored it to the portal.

I complained about their response and they have not replied.

I understand VW expect customers to pay a subscription for We Connect after 3 years from new. I can't see me doing that or buying another VW!

I have now had the following advice from We Connect Support: "we immediately re-escalated your case to the technical center in Wolfsburg for further evaluation from their side"

Further to my last post, I have managed to convert the .csv data into a Excel .xlsx file. While it's a lot easier to read, it doesn't make complete sense and contains mistakes.. Although some of the columns are headed "Mileage" the figures contained in them are km.

Just had the following from VW We Connect Support:
We regret to inform you that despite our best efforts, we cannot retrieve the driving data that is no longer displayed for your vehicle in your user account.

Our specialist departments have tried everything possible to restore the driving data, but unfortunately they had no success. Despite a detailed analysis, no root cause for the loss of the driving data could be detected.

We will continue to closely monitor the mobile online service “driving data”, in the hope that we will find a way to prevent such unwanted deletions of data in the future.

We hope you continue to enjoy the mobile online services an your Volkswagen Golf.

"Enjoy" I don't think so.........................

Possibly an outlook of things to come on the ID3 as this is more the backend service than anything on the car.

My guess was, that it is related to efforts to fix software issues of ID3.
On the VW portal, I can view driving data for each month separately. I still can download a full list of my long term driving data as an excel sheet.
What's strange, via WeConnect app I can see driven distances only for random dates. And then starting from beginning of April only during this months driven distance. Beginning of the month coincides with total 99:59 hours I did drive.
