Wheel Auto part Tire Automotive tire Rim

This is how my brand new Leaf Tekna looks like. I suspect that my dealer tried to hide it from me, but coincidentally I noticed the VIN, and it matches the documents, so after a couple of days they reluctantly admitted that the car really belonged to me.

What do you think about the corrosion? Why on Earth would Nissan choose to deliver a vehicle (namely a Tekna) without the wheel caps i.e. with all the metal exposed like this?

I could see that other freshly-delivered cars had some semi-transparent plastic film attached to their wheels to protect them during transport, but the wheels looked different, I do not think they were the Tekna.

Most of our vehicles arrive from Nissan with the centre caps not fitted. They are kept new in a plastic bag inside the car, to prevent theft prior to handover. They are fitted at PDI.
