My nearside headlight has been misted up for several weeks now. I asked for it to be looked at while it was in the sos error message ash's I've been told there's nothing that can be done about it. The LEDs don't heat up enough to burn off the moisture and they're not sealed units.

Anyone else had this or know if that's correct info?
Never had an issue on the Golf in 3 years.

It's pretty common on LED units. I get it from time to time in my Ibiza.

Strangely mine hasn't had it at all and the car gets washed regularly with hot water. My wife's Mk7.5 Golf does mist up though using the exact same technique. It clears up within an hour or so normally.

Have a look at the assembly at the rear, are there any breather tubes? or access panels? you may be able to blow some warm air into the assembly, otherwise hassle the dealer again and again or have a word with Christian of the Batterylife youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/BatteryLife/about if the European cars are commonly having these issues, he's part of the 1st mover group and has a good relationship with VW

Our last Q7 used to have misted headlights a lot of winter...as soon as the warmer weather comes along I’m sure it will clear...they tended to on the Q7 (unless it was a particularly hot humid summer day then you might get them then too!). I’ve seen it on the Mk7 golf too.... just a reality of non-sealed headlight units
