Ouch ! I couldn't even justify owning a car for only 10,000 miles a year.... In fact if I didn't drive at work, I wouldn't own one. I manage to cycle 5000 miles a year just for fun
Sadly it's the business miles that means I do 25k in the car, it wouldn't be all that practical to do all of those on the bike, but I could be temptedFortunately for me my work pay for it (opt out of company car) and I only actually do 4k per year for work! I have a colleague who did 260k miles in his Honda Cr-V before the Honda garage banned him from driving it, it was painful getting the company to purchase a CX-5 but a model s would be superb for his role.
5k miles per year is excellent going, you know you can claim 10p per mile back from the tax man for business cycling!
