I am standing next to a Metro in the garage car park where I am getting an mot done.

I don't remember them that small. Jeez. We got in cars like that and drove them fast?

Thank goodness for NCAP testing.

I was thinking the same a while back as I looked at an immaculate Morris 1300 in a garage near where I live.

The memories of myself, my brother, my parents and my nan squeezing into an identical model with all our luggage and holiday trinkets (admittedly with a roof rack) and driving down to Cornwall for 4 weeks were nice.

I was struck by how small it was, but thankfully we never needed to test how it would fare in a crash...

My first car was an Austin A30. It the wheelbase would only fit in the local garage which had been built to accommodate it back in the 1950s.

All other stations were two wide and it would fall into the pit.

American cars have got smaller while ours have got bigger, we've almost met in the middle aside from the American pickups.
