New LEAF settings

Not really about faults, but I do have some questions about settings in my new LEAF:

1. Speed control warning: even when not using the navigation, I get warnings about speed control. Is there any way to turn this off? It's useless for me, and very annoying when I'm listening to music.

2. Sometimes after a drive, when I open the door, the charge latch opens automatically. This is not documented in the manual. Is there any way to turn this off?

3. Getting Carwings up and running is proving to be a complex task. First, the registration on the Nissan site didn't work. Now, the car won't connect to the data centre. I'm calling nissan tomorrow, but what a complete fail this is proving to be so far... I sent a message to Nissan on Saturday, and haven't heard from them since.

4. I have to engage cruise control for each ride. This is annoying. It's there any way to have it engaged by default?

Some minor stuff, I know, and apart from this I really enjoy driving the LEAF. Don't want to go back to one of those old cars any more...

I don't think I can help, but maybe I can, if I clarify - Speed Control warning? What's that? Is that the "ok" button you have to press on the navigation screen? No way to turn the "ok" off - it has been requested!

I think the charge latch opening may be a glitch with your car so worth a trip to the dealer - you're not hitting the button the remote by mistake or anything?

CarWings - you have to have the Telematics Control Unit (i.e. SIM) activated. if the dealer hasn't done it then they need a kick and Nissan GB won't be able to help - so definitely looks like a dealer visit is in order

Not found a way to keep cruise engaged, sorry.
Thanks for your reply!

Speed control warning is a message I get over the speakers that there is a speed camera ahead. (guess I used the wrong word).

I'll get the charge latch checked out. I'll also have to go back in to get the windscreen spray nozzles fixed.

I'll look at the sim activation. Very well possible that the dealer didn't know you they had to activate something.

Bummer about the cruise control...

Thanks again!

I agree. I tried to set up CarWings myself today and it failed. It failed online setting up the account too. I too will be calling up Nissan tomorrow!

Thank you for your response and for killing my hopes... :(
CarWings is a travesty, I thought it was bad but the longer I've been on here the more frequently I see reports of how it won't activate, dealers can't use it, connection problems, service down...

OK... called Nissan Customer Services and got great service from them over this... they talked me through on the phone and all is now working fine.

If you need help with getting Carwings going then call 01923 899334 (option 4) and I am sure they will help :)

Thanks Paul,

I'm in Holland, so my first effort will be to call here. I think it's something to do with the mobile connection. It's currently supposed to use Telenor, a Norwegian provider that's not active in Holland...
