Hi all. Loved the Ampera from launch day and followed all its development but really not keen to spend 30k on a Vauxhall. So I waited a year ish and decided to look for a good used car. My approved Ampera specialist were very unhelpful and I walked away and sulked for a few months. Then on a whim I visited my local dealer Sherwoods of Stockton and despite knowing very little about the cars (way less than me) they were so enthusiastic. There were 4 cars on the Network Q site and apparently the dealers can bid on them, a bit like ebay. So they sourced me a stunning 62 plate Positive car with low mileage. The car had been a Vauxhall manager's car and it had the upgraded infotainment system so its pretty much an electron. Well 2 weeks in I still love it and I get so excited to go out on a morning. Making the best of the charge my car App, I get to charge her for free a couple of times a week and I have used less than half a gallon of petrol. With the tax savings and my mileage allowance combined with the fuel savings the finance is subsequently almost free and the car is costing me nothing. I have a spread sheet that combines petrol and equivalent electricity cost and pound for pound my car does the equivalent of 175 mpg.
