Anyone used it? Getting notifications to upgrade to the new app.
Is it better than the older app?
There used to be the i-remote app to begin with when I got my i3 in 3/2017.
Then it became BMW Connected which was not as pretty but did pretty much the same things.

So have they moved the game on with this latest app? Worth upgrading? Or is the BMW Connected app being discontinued which means I have to upgrade?

Thanks for the heads up on when it goes. I have both running as well and the BMW Connected app is much more stable. The new one keeps forgetting my login details despite having both a pin and fingerprint set.
The main differences at the moment are that the old one has eDrive and the new one has charging history. Maybe the eDrive functions will be added soon...

On the main screen of the old app, without scrolling I can see charge status and range, control the locks, climate and lights, change the charge settings and locate the vehicle.

On the main screen of the new app, without scrolling I can only see whether the vehicle is locked.

I'm not sure if that means it looks modern, but it certainly means it's less useful.

Been running both apps in parallel for some time. Have both on my phone. Main thing I miss on new app is tech data on last journey. I have not found that on the new app. The new app does seem slightly more reliable. The charging history data in the new app is good. So happy to move across. I would recommend running both in parallel until you are used to the new functionality.

You should be able to find them under Communication - BMWi Messages...
The message is headed MyInfo and by clicking on the destination you can then import into the SatNav.
If you are not receiving these messages, then the problem lies with the communication between BMW and your car. Sometimes, they take a while to arrive, but that is the only problem I have had with the process.
The notification looks like a standard incoming email

When I first got the car the nav used to open up on its own just a few seconds after sending the destination from the phone to car. Then after a month or two that stopped and a little envelope would appear instead and you'd have to go into notifications to see the route that had been sent. Now it doesn't even do that, zip , nada, nothing. As I said, its crap. I need a function to work 100% of the time, otherwise don't sell me that function with the car & app.

I'm not the one selling you the function. If it doesn't work as it should get it sorted with BMW

@Stuart_75 there are two messages folders. Sounds like you've been checking the Notifications folder, but @Uzi2 is describing the BMW i Messages folder, which is where my destinations keep being sent. Are you sure you haven't checked that?
Wow, you learn something new everyday. I've just checked that imessages folder and guess what. It has months of destinations sat it in. What is puzzling is how when I first got the car 12 months ago, the locations would open up in Nav automatically. Thanks for the help chaps.

@Stuart_75 yeah it's weird, my car did exactly the same thing. First it would send the destination directly to the nav after a few seconds' delay, then it stopped doing that and sent destinations as messages in the Notifications folder, then stopped doing that too and sent them to the BMW i Messages folder, which as this situation is pointing out, is not an obvious place to look. So it's not just you.

Also a good opportunity to mention how incredibly German the interface is. Two message folders? In entirely separate locations?
