Hi all, I need to gather more data for an accurate post but in the meantime, has anyone else been blocked from remotely setting the heating if they opt out of sending 'driving data' to Nissan?
We've had the car (2019 Leaf 2 40kWh Tekna) for 3.5yrs, been using the App for 3yrs in Privacy mode until today 25 Jan 2023. Nothing else has changed (App is same version, car is the same dirty blue car on the drive guzzling Outfox the Markets electricity at a monstrous rate). Is it system update season at the moment on the Leaf?

The only way to be able to remotely control the heating now is to relinquish our Privacy rights in the vehicle menus and give journey and driving data to Nissan . That doesn't sound right...

Or am I missing a BIG link in the chain here? .... :)

It's not just 'privacy' that you "protect" if you withhold permission to share data it's all comms between vehicle & central computer (& hence your app).
Yes I agree @EricM. Managed to confirm last night that it is "sign away your privacy and give all your data to Nissan" or "no App", nothing in between. We are still trying to work out why it blocked us out of the blue (although I do know someone who worked on the App development so might pick his brains:))
Still digging for answers and repeat-symptoms...
