Nissan connect problems

5886 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  ffxmadman
Hi everyone

I am having an issue verifying ownership of my Nissan leaf30 2017.

I turn the car on (for at least one minute)

I then turn the car off but then it just sits on this screen forever...

Does anyone have any tips. I have tried about 20 times now.

Try just leaving it on for at least 5-10 minutes, and also make sure you press the OK button on the screen that first appears, as the car won't connect to Nissan servers until you do.

I had a lot of trouble getting past this step on my car too and from memory the issue was turning it off again too soon. (Despite the instructions to do so)

Check on the map screen that you have a car symbol in the top right corner with a signal - this is a sign that it is connected to the nissan connected services server. This can sometimes take 2-3 minutes if the mobile signal in the area is weak or slow (It only uses 2G GPRS!) and until it connects there will be a red cross.

Thanks for the tip.... Still no joy!!.. Ill think ill leave it off for an hour and try again.

I have signal, I have the blue bars and the car in the tops right.

Cancel the verification of ownership on the web portal then try again. This time when you're told to turn the car on just leave it on for at least 10 minute, and from time to time refresh the page in your browser. I'd recommend using a pc/laptop browser not your phone and check that pop up or content blockers aren't interferring.

Despite what the instructions say there is no need to turn the car off again during the ownership verification process - the only thing you need to do is have the car off before you start the process and then turn it on when prompted then leave it on until the verification suceeds.

It really is a temperamental process - took me at least 5 tries. There also seem to be frequent authentication outages on the You+Nissan web portal (which don't affect the Nissan Connect EV app once you do have it set up) which will interfere with the verification process.

Been trying to connect with my Nissan Leaf 2018. Stuck at the Connection in progress screen for >20 minutes. I’m losing hope, I tried to keep the phone display on and the car on as well.

during the connection in progress screen, should anything change on the touchscreen of the car?
