Hi,

Going on a trip in a couple of weeks to Filey nr Scarborough for a few days with 4 adults, 1 child and a boot full of luggage..... and 95 miles..... oh what to do!

This will be my first trip and under the prying eyes of the in-laws who have not bought into the idea of EV's and will be sat ready and waiting for a reason to shoot my new baby down.

What sort of mileage can I expect from the Leaf under these circumstances?
Would just 2 rapid's suffice?

Should I just stick with my 2.0 diesel this time around until I get a better understanding of her capabilities?

Please help as will only have had her a few days.

Ouch! If your not traveling up hill and stick to 40mph you might make it. Really you need a rapid charge half way on that journey though

Just had a more detailed look and I would need to change route to make a rapid in Hull on the way, so 108 miles or so.

Home to M18N services
32 Miles

M18N Services to Nissan Trenton
34 Miles

Nissan Trenton to Caravan Park
42 Miles

I am hoping that with these two stops we should be OK.

We did a 90 mile round trip, two adults, two kids, aircon most of the way and no charging last summer.

However it was a bit uncomfortable for the last ten miles or so (although I was confident).

Personally I'd want one rapid stop on that length.

We didn't drive really slowly or anything, mostly a-roads and (fortunately) many were limited to 50 mph so we kept with the traffic.

The Jurassictest site is good - but the latest version seems to be very inaccurate, massively underestimating the energy use.
The older, slightly more clunky version is much more accurate: http://jurassictest.ch/GR3/

I did 89 miles in a gen 2 leaf with 2 adults and 3 kids in one run. But as your new to the leaf I would say charge half way and charge at the end

Yesterday on a long trip down to Brighton I bumped into another Leaf driver rapid charging at Pease Pottage. He was also on his way down to Brighton for the day on a "long haul" trip.
More interestingly I watched as his 4 children loaded into the back and front of the car.. I thought that was a little crowded.. then his wife returned and also got into the back! Not sure where they were all sitting or the legality but that was a brave trip!

I once got pulled in a Mk 1 escort in Luton with 9 people on board.
The police asked how many people were meant to be in an Escort. I said rather sheepishly "5". They then asked how many were in the car, as I was stood next to them I said "8" so they told me to make 3 get out. My three mates in the back made there girlfriends get out:mad:. The girls became just their friend shortly after.:)
