Nissan LEAF first service... what to expect?

I'm also keen to know this. Also what kind of price are you paying? Nissan Oxford told me it would cost £220 for MOT and service, seems a steep to me considering there is no oil and filter change..

£120.20 for the service.

I've seen cheaper quoted on here though.

No MOT as it's only a baby car.

£75 for a first year service at nissan in Stafford.

That's quite a difference from two Nissan main dealers?

I found a Nissan Leaf service sheet online somewhere last year, and it consists of very little.
A few mechanical checks (like brake pad thickness and suchlike) and a download of the battery health (which I suspect goes straight to Nissan HQ for stats). I'd guess that download would also have any outstanding diagnostic warning/errors in it too. Can't remember if it included a screen wash top up.

I thought at the time it would take me less than 10 mins to do myself, as it was similar to (but not as thorough) as the usual pre-MOT check-up I normally do...

60% extra (or more) for cheek. There's almost nothing to do. You should get a check list and a battery condition list.

I paid 96 quid two weeks ago at Bassets Nissan in Swansea.

The girl who took the booking exclaimed shock when her computer gave her the price.

They gave me an itemized checklist of stuff they looked at, and I'm fairly sure some software patches were applied as the brakes are now a hell of a lot smoother? The only 'advisory' they offered were regarding front tyre wear, the original michelins are now at 4mm - not bad for almost 19k miles!

When they are up for replacement I'll probably go for the quietest tyres available, just to see if it makes a difference to the road noise.

220 quid to have your charge door greased is a bit cheeky...

Two new tyres after 8.5k doesn't sound very good.........

I'm hoping you tell us all that you race everyone from the lights and get about 40 miles from a charge!

Or have you been unlucky with a few potholes which have messed up the tracking and caused the tyres to wear unevenly?

Or live in MK and spend half your time on two wheels at all of the roundabout

1500kg car with FWD that's fun to accelerate from standstill in a town with hundreds of roundabouts. I think he did well !

Wondering what to do on the tyre front. The standard tyres have always felt a bit slippy sideways, but obviously designed for economy... Might start a new discussion for tips on that front.

And to answer the above, near side is taking more of a beating... So yeah, roundabouts.

Yeah I have taken off 3mm from the fronts in 2k miles...!

I also didn't get the battery report with service 3 and MOT.

My carwings has also packed in at the car end...

I noticed when browsing the handbook (yeh- sad, I know!) that is recommends rotating the wheels every 6,000 miles.

Driving on sandpaper? I managed 20k with plenty left in the three years with our Leaf!

PS. But I am a Grandad - and might be a GreatGrandad in a few years!
