Single rapids are not ideal, but better than nothing. Last time we went to Chirk, the only place to charge was at the Castle.

The Instavolt chargers at the A5 / A483 junction would be my plan A now.

Edit. Doesn‘t the picture posted above show the chargers that are hidden in the Guildhall car park in Wrexham town centre?
It's possible the council used a photo they already had rather than pay for a photographer.
I guess we'll have to wait until it appears on Zap-Map or Geniepoint for a location.

Personal update:-

Good News! My workplace is shopping for 3-4 chargepoints (for staff use only) right this minute!
Bad News! Looks like they're buying tethered Rolec units, despite my warning about the "thermal" issues.

The meat for EV travel:-
  • EV charging, Llandudno Railway Station (£0.08m): investment will support Network Rail EV charging commitments by looping in a new 1000kVA transformer to deliver 600kW of EV charging stations at Llandudno Railway Station.
  • Transport for Wales Car Parking (£0.63m): provide network infrastructure to allow market to enable EV Charging across railway stations in North and Mid Wales. Project will deliver an initial 200kVA of EV charging points at 8 station locations which have a large concentration of commuter traffic.
  • EV Charging at Strategic Welsh Government Sites (£1.39m): project will deliver an initial 350kVA of EV charging points at 17 strategic locations along key trunk roads in Wales. The proposed solution for each of the 17 locations would be based on installation of a 11kV Ground Mounted Substation and 11kV cable to loop into the existing network

Once again public money being spent on putting chargers in the wrong locations, especially Llandudno station.

How many people drive more than 6 miles to depart from there? It is literally at the end of the line. Small carpark too. Perhaps 40-50 bays.

Maybe one of these is the case:-
A) The journalist mixed up Llandudno & Llandudno Junction
B) Someone decided that's the best spot for rapids to serve Llanuduno's tourist traffic

Perhaps. 7kW destination chargers in the car parks visitors to Llandudno use would be much better.

New PodPoint 7kW post at Halen Môn. LL61 6TQ. 20p/kWh.

Cafe on site but currently serving tea and cake only. There was a Model S charging when we were there a few days ago.

The Pod Point rapid at Lidl Llangefni was very busy at the weekend. Queue at the rapid and several other EVs roaming the area looking for anywhere else to plug in.
