My wife managed to flatten the battery this week by sitting waiting in a car park for a couple of hours with the heating on. Had to be jump started.

Am I correct in saying that if she hadn't turned the car off that it would have run from the ,40kwh battery and there would have been no issue with restarting as she wouldn't have had to.

Car seems fine again after a nice long charge.

Yes. In fact I’m surprised the heating even ran without the main battery being on. But, AIUI, if the car is in ready to drive mode, the main battery will feed the little battery.
