Good news for those who wanted to get on to Tracker but couldn’t… it’s back!

I managed to get on to it earlier this year and it has been fantastic so far - today’s rate is 17.13p/kWh for example.

Here’s the tweet

Currently on Go Faster 39p/8.25p until September. Looking at my bill, looks like my average for my useage is around 19p/kWh.... thinking weather they will likely make any changes to these rates from July or should I change to Tracker / Agile....

Rules updated, once off tracker again, you’re not allowed back for another 9 months!

Does it still take 6 months to get on to it once added to the list?

Tracker isn't for me then! I don't like the uncertainty, and I'm prepared to pay a little more for ease of budgeting. My battery is allowing me to use only solar and cheap rate, except for a few spikes a day when I shower and cook. Perhaps I should get an air frier? When the Zappi is added, I'll switch to Intelligent, and I think I'll stick to this kind of tarrif for the foreseeable.

Anyone currently on the waiting list will be moved on to this on 1 July. They mention 50,000 spaces, so the waiting list must be less than that.

We‘ve been on gas tracker since September and it has been 3-4p in Autumn, and again same now, but for most of winter is was about 7p. There were only 3 weeks in December when it matched the price cap (but didn’t exceed it ).

I’ve been gas tracker since prices dropped and it has done me well. However electric tracker isn’t for me, currently on Go Faster, will move to Intelligent in August when it ends.

I was on Go Faster (1.130am-6.30am) previously - definitely the best tariff!

I downloaded my historical usage, which had most loads shifted to the 5 hour cheap period, and compared to IO, Go and the heap pump tariff. The reduced hours + the high day rate for IO wiped out any savings for me.

If you were on the cheap Go faster of course it was great. Though I am wondering how you get to reduced hours for IO, it always give yous 6 hours at the off peak rate (23:30-05:30 might not be convenient/work well for your shifting). Right now tracker prices are right about where I average with IO across the month. Agile is currently running close to par with tracker, but depending on your ability to shift loads can be cheaper.

Where electricity tracker comes into it's own right now is for folks with a smart meter but no other devices, eg solar, battery, or EV. Especially those that don't have/want to spend the time load shifting. It is expected to provide a significant savings over the next 6-9 months compared to SVR. You just cannot panic if you have an expensive day or week.
I got onto gas tracker a few months ago and that has been helpful. With standard GO at the current rates I am only managing to get our average down to 26-30p, which at least is below the cap currently, but even so electric tracker is tempting...

I’d like to move onto gas tracker and stick with Intelligent for electricity. Hopefully that’s an option

I'm averaging around 19p on Agile.
Just had my email about this. I've been on the waiting list for 2months but am currently riding out a fix with EON (only .5p cheaper than current cap, but still) which ends in August (no exit fees).
The email says if I'm not a customer I can switch now (using the same email from the waiting list) and theyll port me over on the 1st! so seems like it applies even to people not currently customers!

I'll be starting my switch over shortly.

Interestingly when I phoned EON to ask about early exit fees he asked "are you planning to move to octopus by any chance?" so clearly they are being inundated today...

Also interestingly he said he had to go and check my particular fix as "any new fixes that come out with them from July1st will have £75 per fuel exit fees, but not sure about legacy fixes", which makes me think they are currently pricing up fixes ready to try and get customers locked in and boy will they be locked in at £150 fixing penalty!
On current rates (Octopus go) based on the last 6 months of use I'm averaging about 25p so the tracker will save me about 9p perkWh.

I’m liking this a lot as smart meter was fitted yesterday, 2 year fix ends in June, hopefully roll onto this tracker so the rates are nearly the same as I have been paying the last 2 years!!!
I've been on the Gas tracker for quite a while (just before they created a waiting list) and it's been great so far (3.57p/kwh today). Currently on IO for Electricity (35/7.5) which is due to end towards the end of June - might switch but I guess it depends what they do with the peak IO rate come 1st July.
