IIRC (If I remember correctly) the Leaf automatically puts on the electric park brake when you shutdown if you haven't done it already. I can think of no reason why the Ampera shouldn't do the same.
Don't forget peeps... we should not be leaving our car without the park brake applied - even on flat ground. It is a requirement of us to secure the car and we should not be relying on the transmission (either manual or auto) to do that for us. I know that it is common practice for some drivers of auto cars not to use the park brake and just to put the selector into P but that is not sufficient as it then relies on the various parts of the engine or transmission to stop the car moving and that is not as reliable as applying the park brake.
