Hi forum! I recently embarked on a journey to increase the performance of my LEAF. I've made a video series on this subject, might be interesting for many here :)

Interesting
Which Leaf? Mk1 or 2,
Which battery size?
Any figures for the performance increase?

This is an upgrade for the AZE0 LEAF (2013-2017). Preferably with a 30/40kWh battery upgrade, otherwise the fuse might burn.

I'm currently making the performance difference video, but a hefty +30kW is achieved!

How does this affect the 8 yr battery/inverter/motor warranty?

I have a 5 yr old 30kWh .

So funny.

He’s hacking a Leaf. You can say goodbye to any warranty at that point.

Exactly my point ;)
Reminds me of EVM Leaf 30 Nismo software update video.
Exactly my point.
I think you missed the point of the thread.

If you enjoy mud wrestling the pig that is Nissan customer service for warranty items, there are other threads.

This is where the true adventurers live.

And to continue on this, I just got a 160kW inverter from a 2020 e+ LEAF!

How much of the HV cabling have you got as well? You'll have an even greater lack of traction than before.
Can't wait for the full swap from an Ariya e-4orce :devilish: Cranfield aren't able to sell their LEAF development car but I'd be up for a Gen1 replica.
I’m already having bad thoughts about a Defender EV conversion, Spectre spec.

The cabling is the same 50mm^2 on all LEAF generations, so no need to upgrade that!

Here's a list of inverters for ZE1 incase you are buying one:

ZE1 inverters (2018-2022)
291A0-5SA1A - 110kW inverter
291A0-5SA1B - 110kW inverter
291A0-5SA0A - 110kW inverter
291A0-5SN0A - 160kW inverter
291A0-5SN1A - 160kW inverter
I now have the 160kW inverter mounted and confirmed working :devilish:

A customer sent back these pics, 110kW inverter upgrade on a 2013 LEAF, putting out 120kW to the wheels

What battery pack?
This LEAF also got a 40kWh pack fitted. But I've seen people with 24kWh packs also go for the 110kW inverters! No reports of popped fuses yet!
