I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has regular problems with their Pod Point charger. It starts charging perfectly well but when we lock the car it typically stops charging shortly after and the red light shows on the charging unit.

Is this a home chargepoint or a public one? What car do you have?

I Personally find their chargers to be very reliable, and their support team are pretty good too. Have you tried reaching out to them for advice and/or servicing yet?

I had this problem when mine was originally installed. In my case, it was due to a voltage drop because they had used in sufficiently thick cable due to the long run required. As it was over 70m they should have used 16mm SWA cable and not the 10mm they originally specified.

They did fix it though and replaced all the cable and reinstalled it. Not had any problems since.

It’s a home charge point and we have a Mini. It was only installed last month. Pod Point have said the issue is due to the 6ma detection board. I’m not an electrician so it doesn’t mean anything to me but I’ve gone back to the installer and asked them to fix.

It's exactly what they say, should have been tested on completion of install. Get the installer back to change the 6ma detection board. 5 min job.

We had problems with our 2nd podpoint.

The CT clamp was faulty, they came out and fixed 2 days later, fine since!
