Hi all,

Sharing my recent experience of Charged EV.

Charger chosen and paid for on 22 May. Install booked for 9th July. Engineers came and tried their best but couldn't get a low enough earth reading from the earth rod location. Apparently the dry weather makes it awkward for earth readings, had it been raining recently I would have been OK. Was advised by the engineer there was an option to come back, dig a hole, fill it with some kind of sand/cement which provides better earthing. Was advised I'd get a rescheduled appointment.

2 weeks later, no news. Email sent. 4 phone calls made. Each time a member of the scheduling team were meant to call back later that day. Nothing.

It's now been over 3 weeks and nothing from Charged EV about the next course of action. Each person I spoke to assured me I'd get a call, if not by scheduling, then by them personally.

What other companies give such poor customer service? Those that you wouldn't deal with, of course. Recommend? I think not.

I can't say this was the experience I've had with ChergedEV. I had a Rolec box installed by them in 2016 and they came and replaced it in 2018 when the case began to crack. At all times they were communicative and prompt in getting the job done.

I can only assume they've become overwhelmed by the rise in demand and are now having to catch-up the whole time.

Hi Squasher,

I apologise on our behalf with your situation and also for the late reply - I didn't have an alert to this.

Can you send directly your name, email and postcode please?

Thanks,

Hi Liam,

So, you guys told me I need a Double Pole Isolator back in Aug. So I enquired about getting it fitted and was told you (Charged EV) would get back to me. Nothing's happened since despite many calls. Having had enough, on 17th Oct I asked your colleague Bethany Fox for a refund. I've heard nothing back. WTF?? I've now resorted to this forum because I presume you respond better in front of a crowd, though you & I know there are more prominent ways to contact you. Can you give someone a prod to refund me please?

Thanks.

Jack

Hi Jack,

I'm extremely sorry to hear that this has been the case and I wish we were aware sooner. I have passed this on to the team for you to be contacted as soon as they become available.

Again, please accept my apologies.

Thanks,
Liam ⚡

My experience with ChargedEV was terrible and would not recommend them at all . The good thing is they have decent engineers, they did the installation very professional but was such a pain to get to that point and afterwards to get my first logging details. If you want to deal with them make sure you have plenty of times to call them and patient to wait for installation

So far my experience with ChargeEV has been very good. All my questions have been answered quickly and the customer service has been faultless.

I also needed an isolation switch but it was made clear that I had to arrange this with my electricity supplier. Fitting the switch has taken longer than expected which has meant that I have had to rearrange my appointment for the charger a few times. I've not had any issues with this, even when I had to rearrange with only a day's notice.

Hopefully it will go just as well when it's installed in a few days.
