For some reason I was looking at Taycans earlier, despite being ludicrously expensive and of little comparison to a Tesla unless you have more money than sense, the sound it makes is like no other EV.

I can see Porsche are trying to appeal to those who say 'I won't drive an EV because I like engine noise!' and I think it does sound nice. You can hear a launch control sound similar to an ICE engine and at around 60mph it sounds like it emulates a gearchange.

The only other car I'm aware that does this is the Jaguar i-Pace which sort of sounds like a CVT V6 engine initially then it changes into a sort of spaceship sound - albeit interior noise only, not quite as nice as the Taycan I don't think.

Looking forward to this feature in the next software update from Tesla.

Meanwhile I’m happy with fart noises. Bet the Taycan can’t do that.

It's not emulating a gearchange, it's doing one. There's a two speed box in the transmission to help balance acceleration, top speed and economy. Whether this is a Good Thing or not has been thoroughly discussed in this thread:
