I have just got a Passat GTE after 12 years in Golf's(so I know how VW satnavs operate) as I could not wait for the new Golf GTE. It is fitted with the standard 8" display and I may be stupid but I cannot find anyway to enter a UK postcode for a destination. This may be my fault for just assuming this would be available exactly as it was in all three golf's and every other satnav I have ever used but can anyone confirm if postcode entry is available?

You are saying that for new destination address, following tapping City there is no Ptcd box at bottom left of screen upon MIB 3 Discover Media? When I demo'ed Advance with Discover Pro, as permanently online it behaved as any other satnav upon "search".

What model year / version is your Passat? My 2018 8” standard Discover version (not Pro) just lets me type a post code after touching ‘New dest’ and giving me a single ‘Enter Address/POI’ box.

The new versions do not allow Post Code entry. Apparantly VW are going to bring out a software update that will include Post Code entry. Not sure when though, but I am told it is on its way!

hi I did eventually work this out. You just type in the postcode and it finds about 99%. The result is always a offroad destination but it works. Not that I will be going anywhere for the next 12 weeks
