Hello All,

My father in law has had a Project EV charger installed for his BMW i3 around November time, he has been trying to get the app to work so he can schedule times for charging etc but hasn't had any luck. I have had a look myself and this app is the worst user friendly app ive ever seen, it looks like his notification for charging stopped in December time and the app isnt connected to the charger shows "unavailable". I have checked the instructions for setting this up and we can connect to it upon restarting the charger but as soon as the grace period after the reboot has happened it disappears from the wifi section again.

Can anyone help with this, it mentioned in the book about MAC filtering or Ports blockage but i also cannot even see the device registered on the router?

Regards
Nathan

Hello there,

I have just had mine installed 14 th July 2021 in fact, took me sometime to get the app working but I did.
First thing to do is find out your wi fi router, and disable all the duel functions making it only 2.4gtz, your find it in the router manual, I did try using an iPad which took sometime but does work now, quicker to use an iPhone etc.
Hope this works or gives you an idea.

If that really is the problem, there's either a problem with your router or a serious problem with the Project EV design.

Any good dual-mode router will be able to handle 2.4GHz and 5GHz devices on the same network at once!
