I just posted about it in the e-tron forum. In summary, I think it looks stunning, especially the Sportback. The range is average and the charging speed is disappointed. Will be interesting what comes in the base model vis what is extra, plus how much of a premium for the Sportback. But at a rumoured £45k for the 77kWh RWD, if its well specked that will sell

Blimey, that makes the Enyaq look a bargain - over £40k for the boggo 50kWh 170bhp one. I’m sure the interior quality is great, but it really makes me think of 1980s space invaders for some reason. And it’s still got the big, pointless and aggressive grille. I expect it will sell in bucket loads in the UK, but not my cup of tea.

Or a £53k Skoda Enyaq?
Well yes, but I doubt anyone will actually spec an Enyaq to that price (until the vrs version is launched at least). I think Skoda did themselves a real disservice giving such an over spec’d car to the press to review. It’s now going to forever be regarded as expensive, when it really isn’t - at least compared to the Q4.

To be fair, I have just configured a Sport 35 added metallic and "Comfort and Sound pack" and think that would be a decent spec at £42K. It already includes LED lights, virtual cockpit, electric tailgate, etc. What have I missed that would be desirable?

Yeah, I think that's estimated. Audi might surprise us. Maybe not.

£41,325 to be exact - so clearly not then. Their intended purchasers like the idea of keeping the plebs away from their status symbol. :devilish:

One of the many short-comings of Euro NCAP is that the grille is ignored for the purposes of the rating, hence big grilles are increasingly a design feature on brick like SUVs as it circumvents the rating. The bottom line is that being run into by one, particularly as someone of shorter than average adult height (e.g. a child) is even worse than most cars.

The bigger battery
I take your point that it is expensive for (maybe) 200 mile range but probably good value compared to far smaller Mazda, Honda and Mini. Not everyone needs long range, many will buy as posh second car for school run, urban use, commuting, etc.

Its a fair point and I agree most don't need the bigger range. However for those that do, the 40 spec cars aren't particularly appealing other than for their looks.

I think you need to really want an Audi. There are a lot of people who do, but also an increasing number who would rather not be associated with the values they now represent. I guess that’s where the spec’d up Skoda comes in.
