I wish to install an EV supply and utilise spare capacity I have in an existing Hager CU rather than installing a secondary CU. My EV Charger needs Type A protection with a C Curve rated at 40A.

Could I install a Hager ADA190U RCBO (1 Pole) or should I install a CDA263U RCD (2Pole) and a NCN140A MCB?

I am concerned that the simpler RCBO installation is only a 1 Pole device and the Neutral will not be switched if tripped.

You need a dedicated 2 pole RCBO or dedicated MCB+RCD.

The RCD cannot protect anything other than the EVSE.
