We are with Allianz for our car insurance. I had a business van which I sold when we bought the Leaf. I had my NCD on the Transit van and most car insurers don't accept swapping NCD from a commercial vehicle. What Allianz offered was a "mirroring" of our existing max NCD on our car insured with them, effectively giving us the same discount for the second car. After 12 months without a claim we will then have 2 x max NCD to be free to insure wherever we want.
Prices for us were excellent: me 58, wife 48, both with one no-fault accident in the last 5 years. Both cars insured for approx. 12,000 mile p.a. (no cheaper to request lower mileage either!)
Passat Alltrack - £190 fully comp, protected NCD
Leaf - £170
This "mirroring" was a newish feature earlier this year that was not available through brokers, etc. only direct through them.
