I originally had a 3 year Service Plan with Underwoods at Colchester which I cancelled when they told me they no longer did Ampera repairs. So I took my business to Bristol Street Motors in Chingford (who did the Steering Lock repair).

Underwoods 3 year plan was for a 5th 100,000 miles (2018), 6th 120,000 miles (2019) and 7th year 140,000 mile (2020) service. Cost was £471, included MoTs but I was doubtful if it included the HV coolant change.

Bristol Street Motors quoted as follow, 3 year plan, 5th 49,989 mile (2018), 6th 69,989 mile (2019) and 7th 89,989 mile (2020), no MoTs. Quote is £850.26!! Almost double the price.

I haven’t yet queried this as I am hoping to get opinions or costs from others on the forum. But I wasn’t too happy with Underwoods and the quote was from a salesman who I got the impression knew nothing about Amperas. Bristol Street Motors (Chingford) seem much more on the ball. (You might say they would be for that price). By the way the quote from Bristol Street Motors is reduced from £964.75 so I’m apparently saving £114.49.

If anyone has a 3 year service plan, preferably covering 2018, 2019 and 2020 I would be grateful if they could tell me what they were charged. But all and any opinions are welcome.

Thanks @Chris L, shouldn't make much difference but have you confirmation that Service 5 includes the HV Coolant change? If I get a few more quotes from members I will query Bristol Street Motors on this price with some evidence. Trouble is I am very limited in Ampera Specialists (as we all are).

EMAC supplied the service plan on my Ampera, via Lookers. Maybe you can approach EMAC directly.

It was not tied to that one dealer (AFAIK).

Thanks very much @donald , I didnt know that was an option. I had a quick look at their web site and it seems ideal. I will contact them in the next few days and report back with prices. Much appreciated.

I have my service plan through Arnold Clark, 299 for fourth and fifth service. When I asked during 4th service if the battery coolant was included they responded 'if its in the service plan we will do it', let's see in a year.

My Arnold Clark are Ampera specialists.

@donald thanks for the info re EMAC. I did contact them and was surprised that they had records of my (cancelled) 3year plan with Underwoods which they did not know had been cancelled. I wasn't aware that it had been arranged by Underwoods through EMAC. I advised them it was no longer covering the car. I received an EMAIL from them today but unfortunately they don't work with Bristol Street Motors.
I will contact Bristol Street Motors later today to ask them to justify the price of the service plan. If they stick to that price I will look for another Ampera Specialist. It will be quite a trek but I would rather do that than be ripped off at twice the price.
I thought there was one in Ipswich or Norwich, and one in Rochester Kent, but I cant make the Vauxhall Ampera Service centre map work for me at the moment. Cant stop it showing just local (?) ones.

It took a while, but I finally got a reply back from NowVauxhall.
The service manager didn't seem too sure, but basically said if it's part of the service it's covered. I basically pushed him into confirming that it was mandatory, therefore covered, and he agreed. So, although I don't think it's covered in the price I paid, I've at least managed to get it down in writing that he will sort it when the time comes.

As with most things dealership related, nobody knows anything until it's an immediate problem.

I booked my car in for its 5th service with Bristol Street Motors Chingford yesterday. I gave up with the 3 year service plan as it was too expensive. Its booked in for 26th July and price was £280.50p. I insisted that the HV coolant must be replaced and a note was made about that. Like you @Chris L I doubt wheather its covered in the price but I will cross that bridge when I get to it!

Mine's on the 3yr plan, cost £735, covers 4th, 5th, &6th services I believe. 4th & 5th already done, includes coolant change. Not sure if good value or not, but at least the monthly dd is future-proofed.

I've just asked about a service plan when booking my car into Peter Vary Edinburgh for its 5th service. They are quoting £12.99 per month for a 3 year plan and £11:99 per month for a 5 year plan, these both include a courtesy car, MOTs and cover up to £750 for repairs of non-consumables if it fails. £468 for 3 years or £600 for 5 years.

Interesting to see people's views on this... My services come round about every 9-10 months because I basically live in the thing... The plan is to get VX to do the services till I'm over 100k then do it all myself from there on. Which is basically, inspect/strip/clean brakes occasionally and lube the door hinges...

I'm swithering, Mine is due to go in for its 5th, 100,000 mile service. Phoning up I'm not convinced that they will do an 'Ampera' type 5 year service or a 'standard car' as there was no mention of the battery coolant or an oil change, oil life is at 22% and wasn't changed last time. It's really only for the warranty, for what it is worth now or perhaps a goodwill gesture should something big happen.

I'd get the 5th done then when you're out of warranty never show it to a dealer again.... do routine inspection yourself. Unless you're not mechanically minded in which case a quick once over, once a year by a garage you trust wouldn't hurt.
