Shell Ipswich (Norwich Road) Install

Noticed that Shell have installed 4x 150kw units at their Norwich Road, Ipswich petrol forecourt. This was part of a recent upgrade to the entire station.

Not working at the time of writing this post, most likely due to DNO connection.

Good to see some progress on rapids in Ipswich!

Latest update on this, looks like we are looking at July before these are ready. Ouch.

So here we are, nearly a year later and the latest is this site will be live just before Xmas. I’ll keep my eyes on this site, my prediction locally was we would see the Tesla SuC installed before Shell get this one live but I might be wrong!

Ha! Yes, we may well see the Tesla SuC site (earmarked for Q1 2023) online before Shell go-live on Norwich Road. Alas Shell still offline with “coming soon” covers when I passed recently.

That said, no sign of any groundworks for Tesla yet either. Anyone else know when this might be due to start?

A disappointing level of rapid charging in Ipswich / this end of the A14. MFG have recently opened a new station outside of Bury with chargers that are live but pricey!
This is a real tough one, I have done a deep dive on local planning documents and can only find something tied up with the construction of the Burger King at Anglia Retail park. The BK has been open since 2021. There is no mention of Tesla Superchargers but the installation of 4 chargers is detailed.

I guess we have to wait til Tesla update their website, I'm not holding my breath for Shell to open their site any time soon though! In the mean time there is a 2x EG Group rapid install just off the A14 near Morrisons that may be of interest.

Connection denied by Geolocation

Looks like this is the planning for the Tesla SuC in Ipswich, 8 chargers plus 12 more in the future with new substation. This is going to be a big one.

Still no movement on the Shell chargers.
