Shell Ipswich (Norwich Road) Install

5549 Views 24 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  simcity
Noticed that Shell have installed 4x 150kw units at their Norwich Road, Ipswich petrol forecourt. This was part of a recent upgrade to the entire station.

Not working at the time of writing this post, most likely due to DNO connection.

Good to see some progress on rapids in Ipswich!

57p/kWh according to the Octopus Electroverse app, being a 5% discount, it says, so based on 60p. The sticker on the charger is, one trusts, not synchronized with live prices.
Must remember to use my electrverse card if I'm ever at a Shell rapid. Shell Recharge app shows it as 85p too :(
I’ll have to check the Shell out next time I’m around that way again.

I’m gobsmacked that they’ve actually broken ground on the Tesla Supercharger site around the corner. The Ipswich SuC grey ‘planning’ pin has been on and off the maps since I first got my X.

Fastned 300kW units also opened last month at Martlesham P&R.

Looks like the rapid charging desert is finally being filled around Ipswich.

Shell recharge website still gives 85p/kWh as the price on ultra rapids (150kw+).
They are cheaper through Elli. Maybe there is also some deal with Octopus, or an error in the app. Newmotion AC chargers are always cheaper through Octopus than She'll, whether or not you have the Go discount and despite Newmotion being owned/run(?) by Shell.
Elli and for me PCS (when it does/did work with Shell) were the least expensive.
