Always happy to be corrected, but I can't see another one listed at all - let alone cheaper?

I'm probably being dim, but would you be so kind as to tell me the price, poster and date of posting?
Once verified I'll gladly consider matching or undercutting my competitor!

Regards,
Pete

The other Zoe does not have an owned battery. In fact if you add the purchase cost of the battery to the other Zoe it turns out that both your adverts are very similarly priced! So go for the more local one! (y)

Hi Modo,
I'm assuming you're referring to the white Q210 listed here at £5000?

If so (and assuming that's the vehicle cited by spz932), then he's wrong to dispute that mine is the cheapest battery owned Q210 for sale out there as that is a rental version.

Furthermore that Zoe has a dodgy TPMS, 2 rattling dropinks, a scuff and dent across two body panels, no metallic paint, no armrest and only a partial service history
.... so go for the more local one! ;)

Anyhow, all academic as I'm on the verge of selling it to a dealer as there's no interest from private buyers.

Sorry! Was trying to stay neutral but apparently failed!

Have you tried Autotrader as I'm sure I recall reading the Zoe used to be the fastest selling car on there... Seems a shame that the trade should get to make a derisory offer on what is a very fairly priced car.

Not at all - factual input always appreciated!
I am indeed advertised on Autotrader (at £8950 / ie £100 more than here), but zero interest has been shown.
As you say it's a shame to let the dealers win, but I want to move ahead with my Q90 purchase & I can't be bothered hanging around!

Pete

Do try some of the EV specialists on here. It’s likely they’ll give you close to what a private sale would and they’re always on the look out for good cars.

Can I ask how have you managed to buy a 64 plate Zoe with battery owned? I thought it was 2015 before the R model came with battery owned option? Did you pay to buy out the battery?

Exactly so - bought it from RCI on 28th August thinking it would make the car a more attractive purchase / one-stop solution.
Might have been a mistake ....

cah 197 - I didn't even think of that (kind of assumed they'd be watching the classifieds), but will give 'em a go - Thanks for that tip

It was advertised at £5000, plus battery purchase cost of £2750, for a total of £7750 battery owned. So just over £1000 cheaper than yours, newer and lower mileage too. Seems to be sold now.

Be interested to hear what the dealers offer if you are able to share.

So (like any other Zoe) it is battery ownABLE but NOT battery owned, so I maintain that I am factually correct in the wording of my ad.

The matter of lower years & mileage is entirely separate, but yes, I agree that those factors more than trump an incomplete maintenance record, a scape down one side, other outstanding mechanical / electrical items and an imminent MOT (I thank you for putting me straight! ;))

Thank you for sharing. I may need to sell my Zoe at some point, so this is a useful data point.

Hi again sp932:
My best offer from a dealer for trade-in was £7250 (worst was £5350)
Frankly this is incredible and shows that Zoe prices continue to defy gravity.

FYI the GFV on my 2015 Zoe at two years was £5,500 or so.

True cah197, but remember that was price I got with battery included
My telephone didn't exactly ring off the hook, and despite being advertised on AT, Gumtree, rzoc and here, I had precisely ONE enquiry about the car.
Fortunately that lead to a sale (if you're reading, Les then "hello and thankyou")

As others may find it of use/interest (and as it no longer jeopardizes my bargaining position) the final tally was:
June 2018 - bought Q210 for £4995
Aug 2020 - bought battery for £2750
Sep 2020 - Sold for £8500.
ie £755 profit on a car with 2 years / 10,000 more miles on the clock.

Yes, in principle my next EV (Q90 ZE40) will be similarly price-inflated.
However I've paid a deposit on a 2017 Q90 with 33k on the clock for £9750 - a price I'm very happy with.

Moreover I consider my original £4995 to be a distant / 'sunk' / forgotten cost 2 incurred years ago.
Therefore the 'perceived' cost to me is £2750 (spent on battery buyout) + £1250 (extra needed to buy Q90) = £4000.
So I've bought a ZE40 (batt rented) for £8995 - there are plenty of Q210s out there advertised for more (and members of the public will probably buy them!)
And of course having spent £4995 of that 2 years ago, it 'feels' like I'm getting it £4k)

Knowledge truly is power.

Hope this helps spz932 / somebody else to benchmark their own sales / purchases.
Cheers all
Pete
