Just saw this link from the Zap-map site:

What a superb marketing wheeze. Great way to use cancelled orders, get excess stock off the storage lot, put your assets to work, gain some brand and marketing qudos, then sell them as ex-demo afterwards. Someone at MG UK has their thinking cap on :).

Meanwhile other manufactures with Parking lots full of EVs..............................................................

Fair play to MG, best to make use of the hardware lying about and contribute where they can! 🙋‍♂️

It will also serve to increase the awareness of all-electric vehicles among those who may not have experienced one before - get the disruption S-curve moving :)

Yup, that conglomerate is about 1 billion & counting... and they sure can use some good PR!

Yes, I was amused at the "British brand" comment. They're a badge for the biggest car manufacturer in China (SAIC), which is perhaps why they can deliver a large volume of EVs in a short(ish) time - vast battery manufacturing capacity!

Whilst we're on that, Vauxhall isn't a British owned car manufacturer either but at least they have some manufacturing in the UK.

MG has design in the UK. Something we are good at, but when you read "made in UK" you expect it to be a pencil, or overpriced and poorly made lol
