Re: Who on here is from Hampshire?

OK. We are discussing a Hampshire meet up over on the Leaf forum.

One of the Leaf drivers is a councilor. He says that there is a budget to install 32 charging stations as part of this SSE streetlight upgrade PFI that is going on countywide.

Of course, the people that are making decisions on the county council are not EV drivers and they're making the usual mistakes. We are planning to get everyone together so that he can fully brief us and we can perhaps make some kind of approach to our respective councilors etc.

There is a possibility to do something on the weekend of the 17/18th. Where is TBD at the moment.

There used to be a member called sphhants who had a Volt. I think he was from Fareham. I don't think he's been here for a while.

Re: Who on here is from Hampshire?

The info for this meet-up is here: http://www.leaftalk.co.uk/showthread.ph ... ers-(SoCEV)-Meet-Up-17th-Nov-Port-Solent-1pm

The plan is to meet at Port Solent at 1pm on the Saturday. We have 'honorary Hampshirites' coming from Brighton in the East as well as Bournemouth in the West by Leaf, so it was judged to be the point everyone could get to and from. The location has shown an interest in installing EV charging so if we descend en masse then they may get on and do it. There is other charging nearby.

Alan Weeks, the councilor I mentioned, will be coming to give us a brief and we will cover other issues too. Plus it will be good to put faces to names.

I hope everyone can make it.

Re: Who on here is from Hampshire? (or nearby!)

So just a reminder that others are also more than welcome to attend this. It's billed as a South Coast Meet.

I know a few of you visit the county too, so probably have some thoughts on how and where we might spend our council tax on these 30 sites :)

Duncan, RickMGoldie, A Stewardson, sphhants, hopbackguy (and proddick) you're all in or close to Hampshire right?

There are at least 5x 32 Amp and 5x 13 Amp chargers in the vicinity if people do need a top-up before or after.

Just up the road a bit in Oxfordshire, but I'm afraid I'll be in Scotland that weekend (which is going to really cut into my mpg).

Ah right... if you have 5 Ampera cables. You didn't say that. Sorry. When you said 5 cars I naturally assumed people would have their own cables and that might mean 10A if it was a Leaf or i-Miev for example.

Just thinking about the charging for Saturday. I'm expecting it to be a bit chilly, so I am planning for more charging than perhaps people might need.

This is the current situation I have from people across multiple forums. A + sign indicates you need charging or I guess you may need it if it is cold (I took this as 50 miles round trip for the Leafs to give some margin).

Confirmed

Leaf - Grant
Leaf - LeaferBob
Leaf - Nigel / PlanetF1
Leaf - Nikki + (if not the Prius)
Leaf - Alan Weeks +
Leaf - Rob Sharpe +
Tesla - Kevin
Ampera - Mike / HopBackGuy
Ampera - Richard Goldsmith +
Ampera - Me +

Possible

Leaf - Trevor and Mary +
Leaf - Sefton +
Ev'ie - Matt Carr
Kit car - Chris King

As you can see, we are under-represented here!

Facilities

We will have a 16A socket at the venue, which I will run to the parking spaces and split into 10A and 6A. I have all the gear for this.

At Lakeside there are 2x 32A Type 2 and 1x 13A. That is enough for the moment but if more people come I hope to have a J1772 adapter by the end of the week that will allow more cars to plug in.

'Guests'

Also I am aware of a few interested non-EV drivers coming.
