I have been watching the whole of "Spiral" from the beginning on BBC iPlayer one episode per evening.
Suddenly, amid endless Peugeot's and Citroens, Gilou, one of the main police characters, is driving a Golf GTE as his police car.
As in most TV, nobody visits a petrol station never mind plugging in a PHEV so you'd never know. Apart from the C shaped running lights, of course!
In the usual cliche, the baddies all drive Porches.
It's actually very good, though, if you don't mind subtitles. Lots of sex and mayhem. Very French.
