Four 50kw ( Maybe 100kW ) Rapid Chargers (These can charge 2 cars at the same time ( CCS & Chademo ) Plus each Rapid has a AC 22kW socket on it
When i called there only 2 Rapids out of 4 working ( the ones working are nearest the Main building )
26 x 7kw Sockets ( On Free Vend just plug in )

The fully solar powered site is served by zero-emission electric buses, operating every 10 minutes along dedicated bus lanes taking just 15 minutes to travel to Leeds City Centre.
Stourton Park & Ride has capacity for 1,200 vehicles including 26 x 7kW electric car charging points, secure cycle storage and dedicated disabled, family and motorcycle bays.
Stourton Park & Ride will also boast the newest Changing Places toilet that offers additional space and facilities for carers and families who plan journeys around specialist toilet facilities

Leeds did always strike me as a council that saw EV charging (and EV's in general) as important. The charging facilities in the Woodhouse Lane car park were useful, though frequently the council would be charging their own vans there all the time.

They don't charge at Elland Road park & ride if you are just using the Rapid Charger there. ( i have used the Rapid a few times / CYC Polar Plus needed )

The Rapid Chargers at Stourton Park & Ride have contactless payment devices on them ( so payment needed might be coming soon )
So you might be ok if only using the Rapid Chargers to charge for less than i hour

I sent a email to I park & ride that run the site:
Do you need to buy a ticket if your only using the Rapid Charger to charge your car for less than hour and not using the bus ?

Hello David If you are not boarding the Park and Ride bus to travel on the bus. A bus ticket isn't required. Thanks Sue

So if we come up shopping and park on one of the 7kw chargers do we have an hour or is it longer as it might take 3-4 hours to charge the car? If its just an hour we would be better of going on a rapid whilst waiting for a bus

The open 7 kW chargers are for anyone that use the park & ride bus so no time limit :)

The rapids are for Quick Charging for less than I hour or maybe longer if no one is waiting and at some point may have a time limit.
when i called there last week the Rapids did not need a card to start a charge ( so still on Free Vend )

I called in today for a charge, and the rapids are still on free vend. We stayed for around 40 minutes. The place was understandable rather quiet given it's the substitute Bank Holiday for Boxing Day.

The charger did max out at 51.2kW despite having a low enough SOC that it should have been around 75kW. So I suspect, as others on Zap-Map have suggested, these units are only 50kW units.

Actual charge rate:

The roilets are nice and clean, but there's no other facilities here. There is a retail unit in the building, but as yet it isn't occupied. A coffee shop would make be a good fit for both P&R users, as well as the odd few people rapid charging.

I don't know how much these units will be once the move from free vend, it will be interesting to find out, as the site is only 1 junction away from Skelton Lake, with the rather pricey but much faster Ionity chargers.

Since we were meeting someone at Skelton Lake, we left the 4x rapids at the P&R with just a single Tesla charging, and arrived 1 junction up the M1 at Skelton Lake to find all 6 Ionity occupied, with several cars queuing.

This place is great. We used it today on a looooong journey. Used the free rapid to top up to about 70%, then stuck the car on a type 2 and grabbed the P&R into Leeds for lunch. Left with 100% battery for the tail end of the journey.

This place is an awesome idea that other councils need to copy! It brought us into Leeds, spending money, when we'd have otherwise driven straight past.

Looks like they have increased the speed of the AC charger up 22kW , When stalled they all said 7 kW on the screen

EV charge points @ Stourton Park & Ride Leeds

If you use the EV charge points please note that from 16 May 2022, the AC fast chargers will be priced at 39p/kWh, and the DC rapid chargers priced at 44p/kWh. You can download the EB Go! App and follow the on-screen instructions to start charging and to make payments.-#

Crown Point Retail Park ( Leeds )

Rawcharing has just installed 3 posts all 22Kw ( 6 sockets) plus another 3 posts ( 6 sockets ) in the staff car park
( which may soon be turned into a new customer car park ) at Crown Point Retail Park

You need a Chargepoint app to use them and the cost is 30p per kW with a 3 hour time limit on site

Oh this is a shame. On our long trips North/South we always break it up by stopping here to charge for free for a few hours while we bus it into Leeds for some decent food and a bit of shopping.

If we've got to pay for a charge I imagine we'll just stop at the services now.
